Default Vq35hr transmission replacement

My synchros are getting quite weak, I will likely Be needing a new Trans soon here for my vq35hr 350z. I found the oem vq35hr Trans on z 1 motorsports, 1800$. Is this the best Trans I can be putting in my Z for the money? Would a built one be cheaper? Would I be better off getting a low mileage used Trans? I should add I'm running 290whp, so nothing very high, just hfcs, exhaust and tune.
