Default Loving this motor - 303whp 260tq intake/exhaust/header

I am really impressed with the VQ35HR.

I upgraded from my 2003 Brickyard to a 2007 Super Black earlier this year, and I have been very pleased with the drivability and the results of modifications that allow this thing to breathe better.

I did some simple mods to the car in the engine department. It is an unopened motor with 70k miles.

PPE Long tube headers with the upgraded collector
Stillen Gen 3 ultra long intake setup
HKS Full Dual Exhaust with H-pipe

I took the car to Martin at RS Enthalpy, and he was able to tune it to 303 whp and 260 torque. The first run as-is was 294 whp and 253 torque. The peak power is not the real improvement of the tune, however. The mid range torque, linear power, no dips, and overall feel of the car is 300% better. I don't know what the hell he did with the throttle mapping, but it feels like a real car, not a fly by wire disaster!

I don't know how to embed:

Where do i go with this thing next?

Great numbers , your car has the looks and power I guess the next step could be some handling mods if you haven't delved into that yet . I mean nothing crazy maybe a hotchkis sway bar kit .

Yes I agree, a nice final drive would help for sure. The viscous diff that is stock isn't that bad right now, although I think a nice 1.5 way or helical would be a beautiful addition. I really would love to put a 3.9 or 4.08 in this rear end. We will see where it ends up. At 70k miles, I need to start thinking about a clutch also.

For wheels and suspension the car currently has the following:

Enkei RPF1 19x9.5 + 22 - Kumho PS91 265/30/19
Enkei RPF1 19x10 + 18 - Kumho PS91 265/35/19

Coilovers - Fortune Auto USA true type coilovers - type 500

SPC front caster/camber adjustable upper control arms
SPL front compression rod spherical bearings in brand new compression rods
SPL front inner lower control arm bearings
SPL front lower control arm shock bearings
SPL front sway bar spherical end links

SPL rear control arm eccentricity lockout kit
SPC camber adjusting rear control arms
Voodoo spring seat deleting adjustable rear control arms

I think that 3.9/4.08 fd gears is an excellent idea! I'd recommend the 3.9 because I like them a lot, but never drove a Z with 4.08's. You would see what I mean once installed in your na Z. Get the work done by someone who is very good at this, not just anybody.

I've been building R200's for close to twenty years. I think I will be capable of building one if I don't find one already done for sale at a good price in the classifieds.

believe me, it's not. at low throttle, cruising, idle, it's very quiet. At wide open throttle there is definitely a great sound quality, but its not nearly as loud as say, a tomei expreme or motordyne or aam

Dude yeah I have an HR with stock headers, art pipes , resonated XYZ, and Tomei expreme and its way louder than that. It sounds great but it's borderline obnoxious as a daily, which my car is.

Well I'm impressed! Very well put together ride OP

My ECU was actually tuned by Martin as well. Now if I could just work out the rest of the swap bugs, I shall be joining the HR club shortly
