Default General VQ35HR questions

Hi all,
Im new here.
Ive done plenty of reading but no posting.
I live in Australia and do not own a Z.
I have just bought a VQ35HR to put into my Datsun 510.
I bought the engine from Junglefever on these forums as his build was not completed.
I am 95% convinced to get it running via a standalone ecu.
I need to get hold of an engine harness for all the sensor plugs.
Is there any differences between years and auto/manual etc?
I see plenty of harnesses on ebay for various models etc but I don't know what year or transmission this engine is from.
Will the engine number tell me that?
I will have plenty of questions but this will get me started.
Thanks
Andrew

No idea on engine number but as long as the harness is for an HR 07-09 350Z I think they should be identical. There is a manual swap thread on here somewhere and only a minor harness change was needed. No different sensors on the engine, from what I remember, between an auto and manual.

You may find the engine section of the 350Z factory service manual useful if you haven't already found it.

So that's a +1 for the same and a +1 for different.
I'll keep working on it.
I haven't called nissan yet with the engine number.
Maybe they might know.
Thanks

Hi Venture,
Tahnks for trying but that link is for a modified loom to wire the factory ECU to any chassis.
I am not using the factory ECU and just need the loom to fit the sensors on my engine.
Im pretty confident now that any HR loom will do the job.

Just out of interest my engine number is VQ35707125C
How does this compare to any of your engine numbers and what car do you own?
Thanks

Andrew
