Default Strange aftermarket wiring spliced into intake

As the title says... It's spliced into the intake wiring. Maf, throttle body and runs under the intake plenum. Why? Idk. Here's a video. https://youtu.be/iI2rpBLHUvU

Hell I remember the time some guy instead of buying the right fitting clip he just held the lead into the socket and shoved cocking to fit the gap

A little history on the car, OP? Who did you buy it off of? And I'm presuming that this wiring was on there when you bought it? Did you also notice if the large rubber grommet behind the IPDM on the passenger side that allows the pass-through of the interior/exterior wiring has been cut or altered in any way?.. In my opinion, since the wire tapping is unilateral, I don't think it's for any tuning instrument. My guess would be for some kind of rpm/ignition timing display instrumentation that the PO had removed before you purchased it.. Did you notice any drill holes in your A-Pillar trim on either side?
