Hi guys,
intention of this thread would be a statistic of how many of you replaced oil galley gasket in your HR motor.
Second thing - how many of you replaced VTC solenoid OR VTC cover with sprockets due to an P0014 or P0024 code.
At which miles?

I've been in for a 350Z for 2 years now. Did a lot of researching. In the end it shows that however the HR model is most sought for it comes with it's own engine quirks which are not cheap. One that will hit every VQ35HR engine is oil galley gaskets. Original gasket WILL blow. It's just a matter of time.
Secondly I found common in threads is solenoid or VTC cover issue. Sometimes it's just solenoid, but sometimes owners replace whole VTC cover which is expensive. I come from Europe and I know many European owners and buyers are following this forum (I am following for at least 4 years). Situation regarding parts in different here in Europe; I was quoted a price of 1.350 USD for one complete VTC cover or 400 USD for solenoid. This information could benefit to any potential buyers to have some money on the side when buying a used 350Z VQ35HR (2007-2008).

I can give an example of three cars I know:
2007 Orange HR: 70.000 miles - blown gasket
2007 White HR: 82.000 miles - blown gasket
another 2007 White HR: 45.000 miles - VTC cover
