No word on whether the rumored 2009 launch date is still in play.

send Autoblog an email and let them know how dis-pleased you are with them for having the nerve to speculate....

Haven't seen the new Maxima have you? I'd bet the farm that they WILL have those narsty headlights.
I'd definitely dig the small V8 though. You could get a serious redline with an 8 that small. (sorta like the 2.4L Formula 1 that redlines at 19,000!!!).

A small displacement v8 would sound amazing, almost ferrari or exotic-like exhaust note. Sexy

I hope those are PSs and not the real thing. But they look pretty damn good for PS.

The rear looks extremely heavy and the sag doesn't help it much.

Don't like it. But why not just go with a turbo V6 instead of a V8? But this is just rumors and I'll just wait until the L.A auto show for the real results.

Come on do you really think nissan would produce a car that looks that? I still believe there trying to confuse people in hopes of the final product... I really doubt there going to screw up the next generation z...

Ferrari uses a flat plane V8 crank, meaning all the crank pins are on the same plane, 180 degrees apart from each other, resembling the crank of an inline 4. V8s found in majority of cars use the more common cross plane crank cofiguration, where each crank pin is 90 degrees offset from each other. Unfortunately they sound quite different. Flat planes sound more like 2 inline 4s screaming in unison, the cross planes are known for their "rumble bumble" sound, muscle cars are quite well known for this unique exhaust characteristic. Just an FYI, for those that are unfamiliar with the two types of V8 crank cofigurations.

Nissan should slap a High performance NISMO model with a HKS Supercharger putting out 425Hp...instead of the V-8, just my 2 cents.

Why are people hating the v8 possibility? I think having different displacements and engine options in different trims will definitely wake things up in the Z market. And why no mention of a DSG? That is mind-boggling.
