Default looking for shop - daily maintenance

There's been a few threads regarding performance shops in the greater Vancouver area but I am wondering if anyone can reccomend a good place for regular service type work. Perhaps shops in this category will also fall under the performance thread(s) but I wanted to ask the question to see if anyone has had a particularly great experience for regular service work.

Default TEJ Auto in Vancouver (BoB)

Hey buddy,

TEJ Auto's Bob is a good mechanic for maintence job, even parts installation and brake servicing he is pretty good at it. his shop is located on Powell street close to Clark drive in Vancouver. I will post up his phone number later on!

here: 604-2546011, just mention Gary with the 350z refer you. very honest about pricing, take good care of customers

btw, I was looking for a set of track wheels and I saw one of your earlier post about the MB competitions. Are they good? I bought the MB Weapons. There is an autocross tomorrow at Boundary Bay airport which I am going, check ubcscc.com for details!

Gary

Thanks guys appreciate it. The Weapons and Competitions are pretty much the same deal except for the spoke patterns. Fittment runs the same between the 2. They aren't the lightest wheels out there but for the price they are hard to beat. I've tracked them extensively and know a handfull of others who also use them for lapping and autoX and haven't heard a bad thing about them. Besides the awesome price, there are tons of options for a 17x9 wheel both in street tires and r-comps. Too bad I didn't hear about you wanting a set I would have sold you mine for cheap as I'm in the market for a dedicated track car now

What track car are you looking for? Since I am involved with the local track day guys and autocross clubs, I maybe able to help you find something you need.

Looking for something relatively cheap, light, something with good aftermarket support and quality local shops who specialize in the car I get. I am not really too concerned with power - main goals are handling and braking. Some early candidates are AE86 for rear wheel drive, EG hatch - cheap easy to mod, reliable, etc. but it's FF, and a 98 MKIII Golf I have back in the US. Not reallly the best choice of the 3 but it's alraedy mine - just need to get it up here, slap on some Porsche brakes, redo the suspension, and bolt / weld up the safety gear and it's ready to go.

Hey Alex, the Atom would be cool for the track but cheap is still the operative word for me since I'm going to finally take a serious approach to improving my track driving skills. So far I've been pretty satisfied with being an average Intermediate track driver but I'd want to step it up now so I'll probably be logging lots of hard miles.

then I would really consider the AE86. Easy to drive, predictable, balanced... everything you need to get used to pushing your own limits first before taking on tracking more modern "edgy" cars.

Too bad they have an "Initial D" tax on them now But yes it is still high on the list and there are lots of folks in the community here - some of the best cars I've seen here at work.

definitely. If you want a balanced beginner track/drift car, an AE86 is perfect.

good luck bro.

Thanks - not so much looking for a begining car as I want something that is still fun, cheap to maintain, but still forces me to do some of the work. I say some as my old FB RX7 made me feel like I was overworked. I used to track the Z regularly in California as well but since Provincial insurance dosen't cover track days up here I've started thinking about getting something else. Not really looking to get into the drift scene - just want a good all around practice car.
