Default Fuel consumption

I've been enjoying my Z for one month and my mileage has been in the mid-17L per 100km according to the computer. I have my fun but seldom change gears beyond 3000rpm. Nissan states we should be getting 11.9 in the city! What have others been experiencing?

I'm at 15.9L/100km right now (Avg. 32km/h), so it has been improving ever since purchase date. Give it some time, and you'll see better numbers.

I've had it for three weeks now and I'm getting 13.5L, and that's with quite a number of romps here and there. When I took it up to Whistler I was pulling 9.7L.

BTW you'll never see 11.9L in city because what they do when they put out the figures is test the car at city speed limits for constants time periods, meaning they drive constant at 50km, not stop and go like actual city driving. That's why in the real world you'll always get better fuel economy on the hwy.

I've been getting 11.9-12 since I got the car and I have 2600 kms now. But having said that, most of the miles were put up when I drove from home to my gf's place in port Co and driving on Barnet Hwy... that could be the reason of the better milage.

Thanks for the replies... I'll see if my #'s drop steadily as it breaks in. It's such a sweet ride that it's the first time I wished I worked farther from home! I'll have to try the Whistler Hwy soon.

Cheers!

Buddy you're bound to get head aces, you live in the States. Leave the metric to the rest of the world.

I'm getting around 13.5/100 @ 35km/hr avg.

I've got 13,000 + Km on my ride, and I've red lined it many a time. Plus I shift at 4.5K + and cruse at around 3.5K most of the time.

Hahhahaha, I'm sorry but it's hard not to stereotipicalize Americans as ignorant and self ritious when a guys posts this. Buddy, the rest of the world got with the program by switching to the metric system, it's America that hasn't changed since we invented the wheel.
