Default Winter storage

Those of us in western Canada know how sh***y the winter can get. What are you guys doing for winter storage ?

I'm not too worried, we don't get that much snow here in Van lately..... underground parking for me

I checked with Nissan Canada, and their recommended winter storage is as follows:

1) Fuel Stabilizer
2) Get the car up off the suspension
3) Start once per month

That's what I am doing here in Edmonton. Hopefully October holds up ...

Yeah those are good tips for longer term storage. Here in Van I'll probably be driving till they start salting (Dec or so) then I'll store in my garage, but probably only till Feb or so when the rains come back to wash all the crap off the road.

I would also recommend putting a plate of baking soda in the footwell. Acts as a moister muncher in case things get a little damp inside, more a problem in older cars but works great in any car, pulls odor out of the air as well. Replace every couple of months or as needed. Also when you start your car 1 per month (I'd do it every couple of weeks, try to go for a drive when it's sunny), after it warms up, turn on the air con to make sure the system still works fine.
