Default Best bang for the buck tires?

Can you guys list the best bang for your buck tires out there, whether it be for 18" or 19". Im trying not to spend $1000 for just tires.

I put kumho 712s on a 95 vette for under $700. got them at Discount Tire. Previous tires were Goodyear F1s. World of difference, F1s had so much road noise could not hear radio. The Kumhos have no to little road noise with super grip.

No question, Kumho MX.

Tirerack has them for ~ $135 each.

I run them 245/40/18 on all four 18x8 rim with great results.

FritzMan beat me to it...Kumho MX all the way. Great tire, and ridiculously cheap.

I just got G-force KDW's for under a grand at the Tirerack. The Kumho's are crazy inexpensive through them also.

I haven't owned a pair, but the Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S is an incredibly well-rated tire at a ridiculously low cost. If I remember correctly, about $700 for the +0 size for the Z (245/40-18 and 275/40-18). They are all season, so I'm not sure if they give up grip compared to the RE040 or not...but again according to tire rack ratings and 2 friends that have them...they are absoultely unbelievable for the price. Check them out at TireRack. I wish someone with a Z had a set to give us some perspective. Oh and before I forget their treadlife is almost 400...pretty impressive.

I use MX -- very sticky, good wear (even at the track), and very inexpensive. Downside: compromized wet traction, not great when cold. But I live in SoCal and the Z will not be my daily driver much longer.

IF you don't want to spend a G on tires -- then you should not have gotten 19's.

Tires for 19s are more than for 18s which are more than for 17s (etc.).

But Toyo T1S and Falkens are about the least expensive. Both are good.

the falkens are pretty good.
they make them in 245/35/19 and 285/35/19.
only complaint is that they are a lil noisy.

I recently purchased Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S and I had a Kumho MX and let me tell you that Kumho MX has much better traction than Pirelli.

Here are the pro's & con's of both tires.

Kumho MX: Great traction strong side wall. The down side is tire noise.

Pirelli Pzero: Traction is not that great. Its a one of the worst wet traction. Great tread wear and ride is very good. very low tire noise.

Over all, I would pick Kumho MX. Its one of the best performance tire with great price.

These are from my experiance with my Z.
