Default Volk Wheel Repair

I need a place to repair my GT-C that bent the other night. I hit a pothole or something, couldnt tell....

I would prefer a place in St. Louis, but I would be willing to ship it out. The outer lip is bent, but the tire still hold its bead on it. Possibly looks like it could be hammered back in with a mallet. Im no expert.

They are 19"s. If I have to have the lip replaced, how much $?

Anyway, if you know of a place that does quality work. Lemme know. Thanks.

Andy.

I recently scratched the lip on my iForged 3 piece wheel. So I did some research within the forum.

I found the following places that does repair and refinish:
Fix A Rim
Wheel Techniques
Wheel Technologies
Fix Rim

The last one has stores nationwide, closest to you is in Chicago.

I think Rays wheels use unique clearcoat process that cannot be duplicated in U.S., this may propose problem with appearance matching the fixed wheel with the rest of the wheels.

Hope that helps.

Rgd,
Mike

Hey thanks a ton man. I appreciate it.

I have a feeling I am going to have to have that lip replaced, but I think I'll call and check out what they say.

ciao,
Andy.

When i had my track rims i had a minor drifting accident and I brought it to New England wheels and tires, in New Hampshire they did a decent job it was around 130 bucks for an 18 inch i think it would have been 150-160 for a 19 inch rim. That is all you should be paying Ranger5oh, just as a guideline for prices for you to follow. What they do is sandblast it to get rid of the paint and than they heat it up to reform the rim, they told me that some rims crack due to the heating process, but thats probably junk wheels, and they reshape it and put the color paint back on which will probably look a little different. mIne looked a little darker. Hope that helped out ranger5oh.

The GTC's are 2 peice rims... cant they just remove the outer ring and put a new one on? Anyone had this done? I have a bad feeling I will spend $125 on a repair that looks like crap. My lip is polished, not painted, and I just worry that these repair shops will do a crappy job.

Tru wheel is around the corner I have some C4 racining harts with acid stains from road or car wash....(or cat ****), but I also damaged a edge of my rim.

I will give first hand report how they are since I am very local to them.

I wish you the best of luck when dealing with Volk/Mackin. These guys are less than helpful when it comes to wheel repairs or part replacement. Hell, they won't even release the bolt torque specs for a two piece wheel. I'm in a situation right now, where I need to find replacement bolts for my GT-C's and I am coming up 100% empty handed. All my efforts dealing with Volk have ended with their saying "sorry, but we don't do this" or "sorry, we don't do that."

Agree..love Volk wheels but when it comes to support they need improvement. Oh by the way i think you just found some bolts for your wheels. I took mine apart to be powder coated. I went with about 27-30 ft lbs of torque for each bolt and it seemed to work. That is what HRE uses for their bolts.

I just got Volk GT-7 and was wondering, my TPS light is coming on, does anyone think that the dealer forgot to install something.
Also, where can I get locking bolts. My last set of rims were stolen and I am not wanting to wake up and have them gone again.
Thanks
Bo

If your last set of rims were stolen, the pressure sensors were probably stolen along with them (they are mounted in the wheels). You will most likely need to get new ones if you want to keep that feature.
