If i am not mistaken, the 3 individual pieces an be changed out in case you curb the rim so you only have to replace one piece and not the whole rims. Other advantages are as mentioned above.

Yes.. 3 pc means .. the wheel is composed of 3 pieces joined together to create one unit.

Quality strength and wieght mean nothing unless "each" individual piece is created using an advanced techniqe like "rolling forge"

I could make a three piece wheel outa card board.. and it will suck

That being said, there are some 1 piece forged wheels that are higher quality than some 3 peice wheels.

My wheels are 2 oc. Love them for thier uniqueness

anyone have pics of a 2 piece iforged wheel? I'm trying to decide between the 2 piece and 3 piece. If they look exactly the same, I would definately get the 2 piece.

I believe that IForged has the same designs for both 2 and 3 piece. With the 2 piece rims you have to pay extra for the rivets if you want them but I think they still cost less then the 3 piece. Nice wheels, I like the Rev alot. Pics here http://www.iforged.com/showroom/album05

I just bought the 2pc. from Iforged. The same rims you can get in 3pc. are available in 2pc. Rivets cost an extra $100-150 per rim. This still comes out to be a savings of close to $500 per wheel.

Actually...I do not mean to educate but...

2 piece: Outer rim/barral is one piece and the center is the second piece...they can come in all kinds of variety...the center can be cast or forged...the center can be welded in...or the center can be bolted into the center of the barrel

3 piece: there is a center (forged or cast)...there is also an outer lip and an inner/barrel...these are then sealed with silicon and all bolted together...

Advantage to 3 piece is that it allows you many different variations and applications in widths and offsets...disadvantage of 3 piece is that they can leak (the silicon does not seal correctly and the tire will not be able to hold pressure)

As for forged v. cast...that is another debate all together...but for strength and lightness I would go with a onepiece forged if you have the money

I have personally had several sets of 3 piece wheels from 5zigen/HRE/symbolic/GFG/Evol...and they are all the same because they get their parts from the same place (except for 5zigen b/c they are japan)...they all get their parts from american rim source in california...so the parts are all the same...the difference is in finish and basic quality control and customer service...

And this will be my greatest contribution to my350z.com forum ever because I know nothing else about anything...the end

This is very true. iforged, DPE and a few others get their parts from the same source.

It is true that a lot of wheel manufactures get their rim sections from American Rim Supply (ARS) but that does not mean they are all the same. ARS builds the rims to each manufactures spec, so some rims are thicker than others (for more strength) and end up costing more, some are thinner (less strong) and less expensive. Other differences also include the basic contour of the rim and number of folds used. Also the method of attachment and number of bolts used to attach the center to the two rim sections differs from company to company.

So to draw the conclusion that all the wheel companies that use ARS have esentially the same product, is incorrect...
