I would like to clean the polish lip and wheel itself, but I'm scared to use harsh polishes and wax... What do you guys use that is safe?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I have many spots on the lip too. I think this is because wax with clear coat was used. I will have to re-polished them. You can use any soft clothe towels, just dont use any wax. Water and soap will do it.

Still no strong answer on what to use.. I hear the wheels are clear coated. I was thinking about using mothers clear coat wheel polish... any imput would be appreciated.
I'd love to get a 100% sure answer on this. Are the wheels/lips clear coated or not? If I use a metal polish on a clear coated wheel thats a quick way to really mess them up. Someone has to know a quick easy way to keep at least the lips looking like new.

they are clear coated. You can use normal car wax on them, and they will shine like crazy. Or use a spray on wax/detailing spray if you prefer.
Use a sponge and soapy water to clean them. Then dry them with a micro fiber cloth...important so they wont scratch. Then add your wax for a great shine.
Dont worry...you wont hurt the wheels...promise.
Definately DO NOT use mothers or any type of polishing/rubbing compound.

Thanks again, BTW your car looks sexy.
I just use soap, water and a very clean wash mitt. I dry them off with a micro fiber towel. Like gq said, they can be waxed. I use zaino on them when I do the rest of my car.

The best way to get rid of the dust....it is get rid of the stock brake system!

I switched to a Wilwood kit, and I have 98% less dust then before...no kidding. I never have to worry about the unsightly dust on the front rotors.
But the cheaper method..as mentioned already, is just to wash them as you normally would with soap and water...dry again with micro fiber. Seriosuly, you should make a run on QUALITY micro-fiber clothes...stock up. DO NOT get the ones from Costco. They are cheap, but they scratch clearcoats...do the CD test....I did...and confirmed that they scartch.
I will let you guys know how it goes. I plan on talking all mine off tommorow and washing them with soap and water. Then if anything doesn't come off I will use something a little more powerful. Then I am going to do a coat of Meguiars cleaner wax.

I just did mine today.. Washed them with soap and water, then dried them with a microfiber cloth, then added a coat of Meguiars NXT wax. Worked like a charm they really shine now, Thanks to gq_626 !!
