Default holy crap they really work!!!!

well this being my first sports car, and first RWD car. i have never had to have snow tires. last year i struggled through the winter here in ohio with OEM tires. terrible idea, even though i got lucky and we had the lightest winter in the last 20 years. still got stuck in about and inch of snow.

well to get to the point, i got the blizzacks on now and tonight was the first real test. we have been hit hard and fast with some serious cold, like 5 degrees without any windchill. nasty stuff. well i got on parking lot/road of solid ice. couldnt even walk on the stuff. thought i was toast as far as driving. but the ZACKS handled great. in fact my dads FWD PT Cruiser couldnt move. he had to slide with the crown of the parking lot untill he hit a dry patch.

i cruised right out, ZACKS didnt slip once. made my dad eat every word he has said (he has made fun of me for having to own a car that i needed to by seperate tires for the winter).

worth every penny!!!

Yep...it's all in the tires. Infact with it's balanced weight distribution and low center of gravity, with the correct tires, the Z is a great winter car so long as the snow isn't deep. While front wheel drive may have a slight advantage just to get moving, it can not compensate for not having true winter tires. Also, don't forget that on bad roads, handling and stopping ability is really much more impotant in terms of safety, and in that regard, with the right tires, the Z will be superior.

It is simply amazing how much difference there is between rubber and tread isn't there?

Without the Blizzacks I have on my Z for the winter I would classify the car as a death trap (year round driving in Mountains of Colorado). But with the Blizzacks I feel like any other car and even better than quite a few.

It still amazes me everytime I head out that tires really could be that different. I wholeheartedly recommend snow tires to those thinking of driving your Z in inclimate weather (especially snow, slush, low temps).

gonna really get the chance to try them out tommorrow. here in the ohio valley we are supposed to get anywhere from 4-12 inches. i am sooooo looking forward to it. last year like i said i had the OEM tires and if the weatherman even mentioned the possibility of snow i started to have nightmares 2 days before. now i cant wait!!!!!!!

Any car is safe with the right tires. With snow tires, you can go anywhere with the Z (except in a foot of snow!).

Interestingly, I had to drive a vette through the winter when my winter driver broke down a few years back. The stock tires weren't bad at all... Now the stock Z tires... those scared the crap out of me! Went out an bought snow tires immediately.

BTW: Since I have another winter driver now, I have a set of rear snow tires for anyone who needs 'em and any reasonable offer.

It really is fun isn't it!! I love driving my Z in the winter with the blizzaks. I especially love passing the SUVs and pickup trucks that have poor all season tires on Most people I talk to can't imagine me being able to drive the Z in the winter. RWD is a lot more predictable and fun to drive in the snow anyday. As long as I don't have to use my Z as a snow plow then the snow is no big deal with Blizzaks.

So far so good this year with the Blizzak LM 22s. Interested to see how they handle as we get more snow

Heh, I just wasted $6K on a second vehicle *LOL* . . . I (not knowing a d@mn thing about Blizzaks) just thought it wouldn't help that much. I drove in the snow last winter and as the lord as my witness, I would have much rather drove a motorcycle--I used to do that stupid **** as a kid . . . never wrecked and had a blast Oh well, I'll be putting less miles on the Z and using the pimp daddy 03 Mercury Sable for work (the main reason I bought it).

yeah i am glad i just spent a few hundred bucks on zacks and not a few thousand on a winter beater. cause the Z really passed with flying colors today.

i promise this is the last time i say anything, cause i swear i am sounding so much like a commercial for the blizzacks that i should be getting paid. but i am sure you have all heard of the big snow storm we have had in the ohio valley. about as close to a blizzard as you can get without actually being one.

and as you can see from my name tag thing i am in dayton, oh and of all the areas hit dayton was and still is the worst. at first the prediction was 8-10 inches. by the time i left work today we had already gotten in the mid teens, and they expect up to 20 or so now. and as i look out the window its still coming down as hard as ever.

the Z never failed. them zacks not only handled well, i never saw the SLIP light come on once. Even through a full 10 inches of snow when i pulled onto my road which has yet to be plowed. my neighbors Infinity SUV on the other hand couldnt get up her driveway until her husband came home and used the snowblower. i plowed right through, even with the snow up over the front bumper/grill.

blizzacks rule!!!!!!!

I bought Conti Extreme contacts last winter with a set of rims, however, the snow did not come back only test was a inch and a half of hail (small) in Illinois. The stock tires were a death trap, never drive on any snow or ice at all with them. Yesterday I drove with the conti's in about 3 or so inches of snow, and got excellent traction. One time the slip light came on, just for a second. Very happy I bought these.
