Default STERN ST7 wheels OK?

On Sunday I picked up a Silverstone 2005 350ZR touring with 17' wheels. I have been looking for a nice set of chrome wheels and found these on EBAY:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...945543767&rd=1

Never heard of Stern so I checked their website www.sternwheels.com and called a Florida distributor. He quoted me over $1900 with tires. The ebay wheels at $599 plus shipping seem like a pretty good deal. But I am skeptical of buying from EBAY especially when the price seems too good to be true.

Anybody know if Stern makes a good wheel? Anybody have a pic of this wheel on a 350ZR?

Thanks

I'm really interested in the Stern Wheels too. I believe they are the same as ADR wheels, which are very popular, fairly inexpensive, but just slightly heavier than a similar Volk wheel.

Check the Need4Speed website, as they are a Stern wheel distributor. There is one characteristic about the Stern over the ADR is that they are available in different offsets, meaning they will fit over the Brembo brakes on my track version without spacers!

Check this link...Need4SpeedMotors

So.......

19" Stern 8.5 and 9.5 chrome that will fit over the Brembo's for a little over $1K.

Anyone have any experiences with Stern? Good or bad...

if you haven't picked them up yet, they look very very similiar to the ADR m-sport HMC. www.adrwheels.com and www.sternwheels.com if you want some good prices i can pm you a number to a local shop here in cali. ps they do ship. only reason i didn't go with the st-7 was the fact that it's chrome. i love the lips on those st-7's. hit me up if you have any questions. good choice btw, i love the staggered look on Z's, even though the 5, 6, 7 spokes look nice too.

spartan, btw, i'm thinking not too many people know about stern rims but they are made in japan, so the quality is real good. the deal that i got for the m-sports IMO was too good to refuse, especially since i really like the look. there was another thread ( under the Z coupe section, title ADR M-SPORTS) the guys at the local shop, rave about them!

Ch@mp...thanks for the input. Right now I'm interested in the Sterns because of the available offsets to clear my Brembos, and I also like the chrome (low maintenance compared to polished lips). What would really seal the deal would be if I could get a staggered set of 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 that fit....

spartan,
if you could those 9.5 & 10.5, OMG! it'll look so nice, seriously. if you're still inquiring bout the stern, a place i go to can get some. don't know if you're in cali or what not, but what i do know is that they ship. now with this in mind, the rims, rubbers plus shipping might end up being the same deal you could probably get anywhere else more local to you. anyhow, excellent choice of rims, hope to see some pics in the near future, i'll try to post some of mine

take it easy!

Stern used to be a VERY good japanese company back in the early '90s with quality similar to Work, SSR, iForged...etc. but they went out of business and got bought out by ADR. no offence to ADR, cause they make good looking affordable wheels...but they didnt keep the standards up that the original Stern had.

The 350z does not appear on the list of cars these wheels would fit. Check again.(Ebay site)

Wrendon, the information is hard to find, but the Stern ST7 wheels definitely do come in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 in available offsets to clear the brembos. Some earlier ebay auctions referenced this, and you will see the multiple available offsets on the Need4Speed website.

Fuddy, so far I've only seen them in chrome....?

Like I said above, if they would make these wheels in 10.5" widths and clear the track Brembos (or if they already do somebody please help me find them!) I'd be all over it!
