Default Overall cost effectiveness

I just had to change my brake pads at 25000 miles and it is costing my 600 dollars. Would it be more cost effective over the long run if I upgraded to say, Stoptech or an aftermarket Big Brake System because it is a better quality and would last longer? Or am I really just looking for an excuse to add more things to my car?

THanks

Damn $600 to change brake pads? I think your getting ripped off man. They are easy to do on your own in your garage. A Stoptech kit won't make them last any longer. Pad compound choice and driver technique is what determines the life of the pads.
