Default valve stem leak help needed

I was checking my tire pressure today like i do every 2-3 weeks and noticed a 6 psi difference between the front right and left wheels. didn't see any nails so didn't think anything of it

Anyways, detected small leak from the valve stem when i was washing the wheels. When i covered the valve stem with finger, could hear hissing sound.

Does anyone know how hard/simple this is to fix? Simply replace the valve stem and that's it.

I think mine might be leaking too...I just fill it up once a week.

The valve in the stem (the little pin in the center) is replaceable if that is what you are saying is leaking. (they just screw in) Check any local auto parts store for replacements. They can be much more that $2-$3. If it is the stem itself, it may just need to be tightened.

Yeah simply replace the valve stem. It will of course cost the price of unmounting and remounting the tire to do it plus the cost of the valve stem. They shouldn't have to rebalance it though. Just go in and say you believe you have a small leak at the valve stem and would like it replaced.

I took my car to local tire shop. They simply tightened the valve stem. Will see if that works for now. Did it for free.

You mean they tightened the valve core or the thing in the center of the valve stem that gets depressed to let air in and out. You can't really tighten a valve stem. It is held in by the air in the tire and the rubber seal around the rim. I think Wal Mart charges less than $10 for a flat repair which is what this would qualify as since I used to work there. I wouldn't take aftermarket wheels there though.

Looking at the manual, it appears that the TPS in the Z equipped that way are acutally bolted in.

Oh yeah, I wasn't even thinking about the damn TPS. Not all of us have those.
