Default can this tire fit my stock wheel

can I replace my OEM rear tires with 255/45/17 using the stock wheel?

I wouldn't because it's not enough of a stagger. There's only .18 difference between the 225/50 and the 255/45R17 in O.D.

245/50R17 is your best bet, the 245/45R17 is even shorter than the 255/45R17.

I've had 255/45 r17 on my stock rear rims for over a year now. No problems & improved traction.

Could you not go 245/45/17 F and 255/45/17 R and keep the stagger correct? Or is the 245 on the front too wide?

I have 245's on the front. No problems there either.

The stagger is "close enough".

I have 245/45/17 front and 245/50/17 rear...I was concerned the fronts would look to wide for the rims but they look great and overall the car looks better than stock size.
