Default Proper offset for 275 up front

I am looking into getting into a set of 18"tires and rims in the size range of 275/40 fr and 285/40. Would there be any issues in running this setup? Mainly I am looking for the proper offset for the front to run a 275/40. Thanks in advance.

17x9+35 will fit that size tire, but I'm not sure about an 18, as its gonna be 1/2" taller and very close to the outward curve of the spindle arm.

Thats what i might do. Go the JDM route of having 2 different rim diameters front and rear. 17x9+35 275/40 and 18x9.5+22 285/40
Now I just have to worry about rubbing the fenders. Hence i am on tanabe springs. Maybe I could get away with 17x9+27. Anymore input out there.

if you go 17s up front you won't rub fenders. I ran them lowered on eibachs with no problem.

I have 275/30X19 front tire and a 9.5 wheel with a +30 offset, lowered about an inch, no problems. What ever diameter rim you chose, be aware of the tire diameter too.

I run 17X9 35mm w275/40/17 on RS*R springs lowered .6" no rub. Looking at it I think 27mm will work, but I would run 30mm to keep the SAI correct and this will help with tracking on the rutted up freeways. Yes, wide front tires do inherently track ruts.

It may depend on the tire mfg, but I think you are going to have to use 22, or less, offset to clear your uprights. I have 255/40s in the front @ 33mm, and no more than 3mm of upright clearance. My rear 275/40s are a lot wider @ the tread surface, in addition to the extra height.

I would suggest +30. I have +35 with 275's and there is only 2mm clearance between the upright. I got some 5mm spacers for extra clearance making mine +30.

Does anybody have any pictures of a staggered (17F/18R) set of wheels on your Z. I would like to see how it looks. Also, what your impressions are of how it handles.

the wheels I'm getting are 19x9.5 +29 in the front and should clear with 275/30/19's...
