Default tire fitment question

ok, i have stock sizes right now on touring model 18's

245/45 and 225/45

im getting the LMGT4's 8.5 and 9.5 wide. would it look rediculous to stretch these tires out and still use them? the reason im asking is because i just got these tires and want to get my money out of them obviously. i understand there wont be as much tire to "protect" my wheels, but would it look allright? anyone by chance done this before? thanks

yes I have done it. I don't recommend it, but if you want to get your money out of the tires, it is possible to do. Be very careful driving / parking by curbs with this set up as there is NO wheel lip protection from the tires due to the stretch of the sidewalls. Over the life of the tires, you will also notice slightly uneven wear across the tread also. In the long run, it is better to sell the narrower tires and buy the correctly sized tires so that the full potential of the wider rubber is realized in handling of the Z.
