My car is lop-sided....WTF is going on?
Hey all,
I just put a set of Axis Milanos on my car this morning, and I noticed something REALLY disturbing.....my car sits considerably lower on the left rear corner that it does on the right rear corner. I can fit two fingers between the tire and the fender on the right rear, but on the left, it's a pinch to fit one finger. What the hell is going on? I do have the Eibach pro-kit springs on my car, and I'm 99.9999999% certain that I got the right springs on the right corners. The front is even, so I don't think I accidentally reversed the front/rear spring on one side when I pu them on. Anyone have any thoughts about what is going on? The car is so low on the left side that I'm almost afraid to drive it right now.

Is there any extra weight in the car like a speaker box? Maybe it slid to the left a bit adding more weight over that wheel? check tire pressure?
If all that checks off ok then sorry to say that's part of having just springs. The shocks go out or the springs start to sag.
If you just put them on maybe they didn't seat in correctly. Try twisting the spring around till it drops

No other weight in the car. Totally empty inside except the usual stuff (spare, jack, etc.)

Thats what happened to me on my last car (3000gt) when i dropped it with intrax springs. When I put my rims on, I noticed that one side on the front was higher than the other. I ended up having to cut the spring to level the car. Thats why on the 350 I decided to go with coilovers to avoid the uneven lowering.

i'm the only one who rides in my car (another topic entirely), but i have stock springs, and i thought it was the weight imbalance that causes my left rear to sit sl lower than the right.
Everybody is right about all of the checking on the springs. One other thing--did you put one of the front wheels/tires onto the back by accident (and vice versa)? I've seen guys do that by mistake.

Get rid of the Eibachs. They're crap. I have Sportlines on my Honda Del Sol and my car is lopsided as well. Many other Honda people have this issue as well. No instalation issues/problems as well for the smartasses.
Now to hear this problem in the Z community. I'm damn sure it's those Eibachs.

i have dealt with these issues on numerous occasions in the past. i tried adding a spring isolator to the rear on one side(about 3/16" thick) to try to bring it even with the other side, no help. the rear actually raised equally on both sides since theres no weight like the engine in the front & the rear spring rates are softer than the front. i realized that making adjustments on the front made more improvement to the back. for example, when i added a spring isolator to the front left, my rear right lowered some making the rear a tad more even. with this setup my front left sat slightly higher than the front right while the rear was pretty close to even but this stance was a huge improvement over the height stagger problem i experienced in the rear originally.... as nuts as it may sound, its very likely that the problem mentioned above on the 350z could be due to a slightly lower front left spring or possibly a longer front right spring. due to the drastic change in the rear the front appears to sit more even. i know it sounds nuts but im honestly improved my stangs rear stance by adjusting the front! as i mentioned the front adjustment makes a larger difference in the rear than actual adjustments in the rear itself! thought this might help when you finally decide to try equaling the sides out......cause you will if your like me! just to note, the adjustments were made on foxbody mustangs that did not have independant suspension, they have a live rear axle wich may be why i got the results i did...... amaizing that i still buy the eibachs after having this issue on my 300zxtt, both my mustang & my brothers mustang & now very slightly(almost not at all) on my 350z! though i have seen smilar issues with other manufacturers springs as well......best of luck!

The springs sit on a rubber piece in the rear. This piece has a a sort of stop on it that the end of the spring sits against. I think this may be your problem. This may be a little time consuming to fix, but an easy fix. You should be able to tell if you jack the car up.
