Default Need help on 19" HRE 546r

Planning on geting HRE 546rs for my baby, but having trouble deciding on wheel width and appropriate tire sizes. I'm debating on whether to go 8.5 front and 9.5 rear or 9.0 front and 10 rear. The thing is, I would like a bit of sidewall "protection" for the rims, but not sure what tires would be necessary/fit for these setups. The rep I was talking with reommended 245/35/19 for front and 275/35/19 for rear for the 8.5/9.5 setup said it would offer a bit of bulge, but I believe he was saying that there wasnt a tire quite right for the 9/10 setup that would do this. Seems kind of hard for me to beilieve, but then again, he's the expert.

Curently, I have the stock track rays (just so you know where i'm moving from) and have the brembo brakes, and am planning on using Toyo T1S for the new shoes. I am planning on going forced induction (likely APS system), so that gives you an idea of requirements for traction.

In addition, the rep recommended against clearcoating the rims (easy to chip he says), and that the clearcoat is not warrantied. I am worried about water spots on the bare polished aluminum on the lip. Any input on this? Thanks.

I can't help answer your question, sorry. But I must commend you on an awesome choice in rims!

-edit- BTW, I am running the 8.5/9.5 setup that HRE recommended.

Cool, thanks - I'm guessing that 19x9 up front isn't an option (I'll talk to the rep on Monday). Anybody heal with experience with Zoop seal? Supposed to be a ceramic coating that bonds to the metal so you dont have to polish for about two years (i.e. the kip) and protect from water stains.

Your set up looks real good!!! I will be going with the 19x8.5 in front also but I think I may go 9.5 in the rear. WHat are your offsets front and rear and if I go 9.5 in rear what do you recomend to me for offset in rear without rubbing isues. Also is your car lowered at all? Looks great man. BEN

Sorry I don't know what HRE used for the offsets, when I ordered them I let HRE figure it out with the knowledge that I would be installing a big brake kit.

This photo was taken before any of my other mods were installed, so, no it is not lowered.

I'm sure that 9" in front would be no problem at all.

The recommeded tire sizes for the 8.5 and 9.5 are correct. For the 9/10 setup you could go 255/285 35/19. I will be going with 255/295/35 the next time around. You can see my setup in my sig

If you want to go F/I, I would go with the 10.5 in back with a fat tire. The last guy I overheard talking with a TT setup said he spins his 275's all the time...

I didn't go with a clear coat on my SF VOLKS. I just leave them off during the winter months and keep them clean when in use.
