It looks great!

Love the wheels too.

For the prices you are better off emailing Scott at scott@statuswheels.com to get a retailer in your area, if you are local and a member of our club he would do it directly, but they do not sell to the public.

I will try and weigh the wheels this weekend to compare to the Rays and the 17's.

there are a set of 19s like Gus's on ebay for about 879, although they have the wrong model number listed, according to the magazine ad.

The wheel ad got two of the wheel numbers mixed up that one like mine is actually R278 not R279. Unfortunately the auction is for 8.5 all four and one of the offsets is 35 which if it is for the rear it will probably make up some for the 8.5 as opposed to the 9.5

Well the discussion of Forged over Cast has been a long one, considering both strength and weight. Casting has come along way, these wheels are low pressure casting which results in a denser, stronger and lighter wheel than the old method of gravity casting which resulted in a porous product, so I don't think strength will be a problem unless you are going to be using the car as a race car on a regular basis then maybe the wheel might not hold up as long as forged wheel but for street driving I don't see it as an issue.

As for weight, I did not weigh them, I just lifted one up and was surprised at the fact that they were not as heavy as I expected, I am going to make a point in the next few days to weigh the new wheel, the Rays and the 17's to see the weight difference.

Some asked about the weights so I weighed the tires/wheels. I weighed the 17's, Rays and Ruff, then I subtracted the weight of the tires per the weight described on tirerack. The 17's and Rays are probably a little off on the light side as they are worn and probably not the weight listed, I had a differenc in the right and left rear Rays of .5 pounds as one was a little more worn than the other.

Anyway here is the estimated weight of the wheels based on the above:

17" Front 22.5
17" Rear 22.00 (probably due to a lot less tread than the fronts which are almost new)

Rays Front 16.5
Rays Rear 16.5 (both Rays are a little light probably because of the tread wear, I think they are supposed to be around 18)

Ruff Front 25.0
Ruff Rear 27.0

So basically the difference from the 17's is around 2-3 pounds (talking into acount tread wear) and 7-9 pounds from the Rays. Which I don't think is that bad considering you get an extra half inch and inch from the Rays and an extra inch and a half from the 17's. There is the info.
