Default Hard time picking wheels

I have a DB 350z and I'm having a ridiculously hard time picking wheels, mainly becuase i'm indecisive. I am kind of interested in Volk CE28N's, but I saw them on a Lemans and they looked terrible. I've probably looked at 50 different wheels so far and I can't find anything to suit me yet. I want something that looks like it goes on the 350z. Seems like multispoke rims just do not look right. And I hate rims where the spokes are too thick (like work meisters). Any suggestions for a picky jerk like myself?

:P I want a rim that looks striking, but not blingy, unique, but consistent with the looks of the car, and most importantly, LIGHTWEIGHT!

I ask for too much!

They look pretty darn good on a DB Z

I like the 5Zigen Hyper 5Zrs...too bad they don't make them in 18" with 8.5 and 9.5 widths.

If you're looking for something similar, how about these (no lip though):

Whatever wheels you choose, make sure you get them with "correct" offset that you LIKE. Same wheels can look completely different depending on offset and wheel width. Personally, I went with 9.5 front and 10.5 rear +22 offset all around with my Volk LE37T's, and I think I made the best decision in my life. I could simply get 8.5 front and 9.5 rear and avoid rolling fenders, but then I woulnd't have the stance of my ride now. (Concave spokes and moderate lips, about 2" at rear) All those hassles with rolling fenders, dropping ride height, install camber/traction rods for aligntment are completely compensated when I saw the stance of final outcome.

It'll be time consuming, but DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you make choices. Pick the rims that most interests you, and try to find as many pics of the wheels with different offset and sizes, and make up your mind. Then be patient and don't hesitate to order and wait for several weeks, even months. All those hard work will pay you GOOD when you see the final outcome.

Oh, pic of my Z:

Wow, those wheels look awesome. See, I only want 18's though because I am going to track my car. What exactly is "rolling the fenders" ? Does 9.5" front ruing turn-in? I know there 8.5-9.5 is the same difference, but the thicker you get in the front the more performance decreases, right?

See, I don't know whether to go with 8.5 front, 10 rear; 9F, 10R; 8.5F, 9.5R; or 9F, 10.5R :P I will probably get suspension upgrades also. The only thing I know right now is a smaller wheel diameter is better for the track. Every one of the track guys says that...now for width decisions and offsets

Btw, that stpotech kit rocks, too bad it's like 5K.

If you are going to track it, yeah, 18's are much better idea. "Rolling the fenders" means literally rolling the inside wheelhouse so that it won't rub with thick rims with thick tires when Z was dropped more than an inch. (10.5J with +22 offsets, for example, rub if the car is dropped more than an inch)

I'm not a track guy, so I honestly don't know about the relationship between wheel width and turn-in response.

Oh, and for Stoptech kits, you can get 4 wheel 14" kits a lot cheaper than $5k, (20% cheaper) and it is repeatly said that 4 wheel 14" kits are little overkill for track performance anyway. They are mainly for looks and "bling" factors. For track purposes, 13" 4-pot front kit will do just as good. It will cost you about $1800. Then get a good pad on the rear, and you are good to go.

I'm not 100% sure, but they weight somewhere around 19-21lbs each for 19's. (Rear weighing a little bit more due to width)

If you need some more info about the brakes, try search function. There are whole bunch of threads that I couuld educate myself very well.

19's do look GOOD, but they are NOT GOOD for tracking IMO, tires are way too expensive and many R-compound tires don't have size for 19's anyway. If your budget permits, I'd suggest to get 19's for street, and get something like 18' Rays wheel from Track Z's and slap Kumho MX's on them for track use. Front is 8.0 and rear is 8.5 but I think they can hold up to f 245, r 275.
