Default My 19" IForged Wheels!!!

What do you guy's think? I just received the wheels from a member on this forum. I think they look great but up close the clear coat is flaking.

The person who sold them to me said they are mint other than a little flaking around the center cap. I received the wheels and looked at the front two and the clear is flaking all over the rim. It looks really bad. I am taking them on Tuesday to have all 4 refinished. There is also a loud roar from the front tires. I wonder if it is tire feathering. Next time I will only buy new items no more used parts.

I purchased them for $2300.00 shipped with S-03's. But if the roar does not go away when I swap them from side to side I have to buy a new set. I hope I don't have to right now.

Its water on the floor from when I washed it, not some kind of coating.

Do you guys think the noise can be from a wheel that was not balanced???

the noise is probably feathering, not an unbalanced wheel. An unbalanced wheel would manifest itself as a vibration in your steering wheel. Even adding in refinishing costs, you are better off than having bought new, since the clear would have peeled from the new ones too. Mine are peeling inside the rim.

My suggestion is to have them stripped and polished, and either don't clear coat them or have them powdercoated clear. Its much more durable than paint. My first set of iforged were uncoated, and they were much better than the clearcoated ones.

I doubt it, probably just more road noise then your previous set of tires. The easy way to check is to tun the wheel all the way to one side and check the inside of the front tires. If they are severely worn or you can feel the inner tread blocks not being even, then you probably need new tires.

Iforged switched to using a ceramic coating (instead of clearcoat) in the last few months. That's what I have, and there have been no problems so far. You might want to see how much it would be to have this process done.
