Default Tire Pressure Sensor Question

What happens when you change to after market wheels that are not compatable with the tire pressure sending units on our cars. What will be the result besides it not registering any fault codes or warning buzzers?

I have the TP sensors in my new wheels and before I had them recalibrated the gauge for the TP just read -- --. No other warning lights or buzzers were on.

the tires would self destruct after 3 minutes.

just kidding man... you nailed it already. it's just the --:-- reading and sometimes the warning buzzer would come on after driving for about 45 minutes I think.
