Default 10.5 rear with a 285/30/20?

Title says it all. I've got some 20x10.5 +22 Volks comming, and I was wondering if I can go with anything wider than a 275/30/20. I don't plan on lowering the car, but I'd like to have a taller overall diameter to cut some of that wheel well gap. Anybody have a SO3 in a 285/30/20 on a stock suspended Z with a 20x10.5 +22 rear wheel?

I've seen a 285 30 19 on a 10.5" wide wheels. I don't see why it wouldnt work. That is a very small side wall though.

The vendor I'm buying the wheels from (you all know the company) say's that it'll rub. A 275 will work but a 285 won't? Doesn't sound right! Anybody else got any input? Remember, I'm talking about 20's, but I guess lowered on 19's would be about the same....

But when you lowered the car, the negative camber gave you more clearance, right? I'm not lowering the car on 20's, I'd like to leave it at stock height.

yeah, but how much rolling/trimming did he have to do? I just ordered my new wheels with 285/30/20s, and was told it wouldnt rub. we'll see.

What size rim and offset, if you don't mind...

volk GT-C in RBC finish, 20x9.5 (+20) up front, 20x10.5 (+22) out back. tires are BFG KDW2s in 255/30/20 and 285/30/20. Not planning on lowering it immediately, but probably will down the road.

I ran a 285/30/20 for over a year and never rubbed. But now I'm slammed on 275/30/19's and the negative camber tucks it real nice with no rolling of the fenders.
