Default difference between 9.5 and 10.5

Well i have GT7s, 9.5 in the rear, with a 24 offset. I heard that a 10.5 and a 9.5 dont have much difference in the rear lip. Is this true?

the difference between a 9.5" rim and a 10.5" rim is 1 inch. hopefully that helps.

This is what I first thought when I opened the thread.

Actually, it should be right around a 1/2 inch.

Depends on the offset. The 10.5 will have more lip with a higher offset.

1/2" more lip if you are working with the exact same offset.

^^^ what he said. half will be on the lip, the other half will be on the inside of the rim, since offset is measured from the center of the wheel.

So i was just thinking. I have a 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear. Im thinking, "well hey, i guess the 9.5 lip in the rear isnt so bad, its kinda deep." Then i started thinking well some people have 9.5s in the front and 10.5s in the rear, so what im thinking is deep for my rear wheels some people have it that deep in the their fronts? Man.. I really wish I got 9.5s in the front and 10.5s in the back now. Its like when you get a deep dish wheel, its never deep enough, you want it deeper and deeper.

wheels are like computers, as soon as you get them, they are outdated. I just ordered 9.5 fronts, 10.5 rears, and Im sure in 1 year guys will be running 11.5 rears. thats life.

I recommend the 9.5, but if you HAVE to have the 10.5 just please don't run a lowly 275 tire on it.

I say 9.5 in the rear for most people. Im not an expert when it comes to these things, but I just feel like a 10.5 inch wheel on a NA Z is just sad, as far as performance. If your all about looks the 10.5 looks kick azz. I ordered the 9.5 rear because IMO its a decent compromise on perf and looks. If your running turbos or super charger, I would def reccomend the 10.5 rear with at least a 285 tire. Peace, BEN

I'm also running the 9.5/10.5 setup (no "lowly" 275 for me though ) - imo, it's all in the offset - your 9.5 rear actually has a 1/4" bigger lip than my 10.5" rear, but my 9.5" front has over an 1" bigger lip than your 8.5 front... it's all preference and what your goals are - I wanted to be able to run a variety of tire sizes, so I went with the woder combo with more conservative offsets (+29 f/r)... that way, if the 285 rear isn't enough after I go F/I, I can upgrade to a 295/30, etc without having to worry about fender rolling, rubbing, etc...

I'm running 255/35 and 285/35 BFG KDW2's btw...

Awesome.

Is there a "recommended" 19" width for TE37?
HyperRev vol.2 is loaded with 19x10.5 R / 19x8.5 F sizes.
Even a few Mismatched 19" R / 18" F

Thanks
