Q to tire reps: Tire pressure check

Most tire shops (like tirerack.com) strongly suggest setting tire pressure to manufacturer specs. What would be the proper way to determine the tire pressure on upgraded wheels and tires?

I'm currently running 255/35/19 F and 295/30/19 R, and both have a significantly different max psi (44 vs 51). Is the figure dynamicaly obtained through subtracting a percentage from the max psi? Priorty order on these street tires would go to treadwear before performance.

You'll be safe in the 32-35 range.

What load range are the new tires? The 2 or 3 numbers before the speed rating...

I keep my front at 35 psi just so the front tires will have less tire feathering and 30 psi for the rear tires so the rear centers dont wear out too fast.
