Well now those aren't so bad, not bad at all. How wide of a tire can you put on those rear wheels?

Looks AWESOME.. except that the wheels are too tucked in for my tastes.. Looks like the stock widths due to the high offsets. I spoke to Tirerack and apparently SSR will be making the GT3's in lower offsets for the Z sometime in the next several months (for those of you that want to wait). Otherwise, for those who want to buy the wheels now, you'll probably want to put spacers on those suckers so they fill out the wheel well properly. Love the look of the wheel, only two things that kept me away were the heavy weight (near 30 lbs per wheel in 19"), and the wrong offsets..

30lbs a wheel?!? That would scare me. I found the difference of 4 or 5 pounds per wheel when I moved up to 18" from the stock 16" in my Z32 TT was quite noticable - it was like losing a few pounds of boost. Any idea of the weight in 18" sizes?

Stock 18's are about 27.5 lbs/wheel.. These are 29.5 lbs so you gain about 2 lbs per wheel. Now imagine if you had gone w/ Volk GT-C's or TE-37's instead... You now lose about 6-8 lbs per wheel... DAMN

The 18" OEM forged rims are 18.1lb in the front, and 18.6 in the rear... the regular 18" OEM rims are 24lbs a piece... jumping up to 30lbs would be a serious drag on your rotational dynamics...

Thanx!

Are you sure the 18" OEM non-rays rims are 24lbs a piece??? That means that the SSR gains even more weight than I thought... in 19" almost 6 lbs more per wheel. That's gotta be like reducing your car by almost 15-20 HP. Not to mention reduced handling and stopping capabilities along with a rougher ride (due to increased unsprung weight).

Clinton is right around the corner. Maybe I'll see you for the holiday. Are you driving...probably flying. Thats one long trip. I'll keep a look out for your post. I see Zanzabar and Dreams in our future.

To all that keep bringing up the weight issue, I can tell you now that I have yet to notice any difference in acceleration. I used to get the slip light with the 17's but with them tires the take off has no delay. I've yet to take off the traction control.

I may add the spacers if I have time this weekend..(Wedding to attend)

I sorta like them as is....

I know that the GT1s in 18" weigh a feathery 17.5lbs. Not sure about the GT3s, I don't see SSR making a newer model rim heavier.

GT3's in 18" are I believe around 24-25 lbs a piece. Remember, the GT1's are fully forged singe piece rims... The GT3's are completely different, they are 3 piece and only the center 1 piece is forged, the rest aren't.

Oh that makes sense then. I actually like the GT1s a little better than the GT3s because they are less busy around the edges. And then there are the integrals which look a little too plain perhaps.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I'd like to have something lighter than the stock Track Rims and the GT3s jsut don't do it. The GT1s would make more sense for me. I also love the look of the HRE 845s and 445s. Wonder what they weigh in 18" sizes?

Actually I had the integrals on my Z32 TT. They were beautiful in classic 5 spoke terms. I've actually thought about those as well, but I'm just not sure I want to have the exact same wheel again. I'll post a pic from home if I can remember to tonight.
