Default Finally.. New Volks

After owning the car since 10/02, I finally decided to cough up the dough for some new wheels and a new exhaust. Since I couldn't find many pics of GT-Vs in Gunmetal on a Z, thought you guys might be interested... I know I would have been. I love the way they look with the LeMans Sunset color! I look forward to trying out the new setup at the track next week. Any Seattle folks going to Pacific Raceways next week?

Volk GT-V in Gunmetal
19"x8.5/9.5 +23/24 offsets
Toyo Proxes T1-S 245-35/19 275-35/19

Sorry the pics are bad quality. I took them with my phone and the weather here has been crappy. Once the Sun decides to show again, I will take some better pics with my good camera.

(note, still waiting for center caps)

Gunmetal huh .. the lighting makes it look like it has a blue tinge. Should work fine with LMS, though. Get some profile shots with better lighting.

It is an Audiovox SMT 5600. It is an great phone. I usually get a phone every 8 months or so. Best one so far. I get to test out quite a few phones as my wife works in mobile device group at Microsoft.

As for photos, I guess it does better than some. Still not a substitute for a good camera.

Thanks Guys.

Here are some better quality pics. The weather still sucks, so it is dark and raining in the pics - thus, bad lighting and dirty car.

I'm not a big fan of Toyo proxes, but nice rims!
Personally I kind of liked them when they seemed to have the blue tint.

They're great as gunmetal, of course.

Nice rims man. When I first saw those months back, I wanted to get 'em.
I like the gun metal look. not a bad combo with the Le Mans.
How's those Proxes feel and sound compared to stock?

it looks like they stick out too far. They should sit inside of the fender line...

They are definitely aggressive, however, the both the rears and front are under the top of the fender line. the rears are the closest, but the top is right under. the lower it goes, it starts coming out from under a bit, which is the way i like it.

I bought the wheels from a shop that had them instock - they ordered for someone else who flaked out. Unfortunately, they had to get the wheel caps from Volk, so they are coming in separate shipment.. hopefully soon.

Considering my stock tires were loud as hell when i swap them out, the Proxes are pretty quiet. Hard to remember what they sound like compared to early life stock tires. I haven't noticed any harsher ride. I have noticed increase grip though, especially in the rain (considering that's really all they have seen thus far). I will have them out at Pacific Raceways in Seattle area next week and I can report how they do there. So far, I am happy with them.

I know Z2000Maximaguy stated he doesn't like Proxes, however, these tires seemed to be the most recommended tire to go with and I did a lot of homework. I guess only time will tell if I will agree.
