what will happen if you got the volks 18x18.5 up front and the 19x9.5? will it produce a positive or negative result?

Using two different diameter wheels, 18" on the front & 19" on the rear, would not have any adverse effect on the whole setup - provided that you make sure the overall diameter (including tire)remains within the ballpark figures quoted.

With regards your "Positive or negative result" question though, personally I think this would look pretty odd. Keep all your rims to the same diameter just for the aesthetic.

- There's being different & there's being just plain damn strange...

Cheers Luke - Thanks for the constructive criticism!!

I don't get why you feel the info is incorrect? There were a couple of minor initial errors, which I have corrected through this thread, but the info posted is for the 350Z.

Check out the Nismo site http://www.nismo.co.jp/ , Rays site http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/ & a few of the Nissan sites.

Default Updated Information - 3

This is a basic update on the factory fit sizes for those of you interested in swapping out your rims (rpm=revolutions per mile):

17"x7.5J +30 225/50WR17 = Standard 17" Front (rpm=780.0)
17"x8.0J +33 235/50WR17 = Standard 17" Rear (rpm=768.0)

18"x7.5J +30 225/45WR18 = Standard 18" Front (rpm=777.0)
18"x8.0J +30 245/45WR18 = Standard 18" Rear (rpm=756.0)

18"x8.0J +30 225/45WR18 = Rays 18" Front (rpm=777.0) 8.1kg
18"x8.5J +33 245/45WR18 = Rays 18" Rear (rpm=756.0) 8.3kg

Volks TE37 18" setup
18"x8.5J +22 245/40R18 = Volks 18" Front (rpm=784.0)
18"x9.5J +22 275/40R18 = Volks 18" Rear (rpm=756.0)

Volks TE37 19" setup
19"x8.5J +22 245/35R19 = Volks 19" Front (rpm=783.0)
19"x9.5J +22 275/35R19 = Volks 19" Rear (rpm=759.0)

Nismo GT4 18" setup
18"x8.5J +25 245/40R18 = Nismo 18" Front (rpm=784.0) 8.2kg
18"x9.5J +25 275/40R18 = Nismo 18" Rear (rpm=756.0) 8.6kg

SSR GT3 19" setup
19"x8.5J +37 245/35R19 = SSR 19" Front (rpm=783.0)
19"x10.0J +41 275/35R19 = SSR 19" Rear (rpm=759.0)

BBS LM 18" setup
18"x9.0J +25 245/40R18 = BBS Type 194 18" Front (rpm=784.0) 8.2kg
18"x10.0J +25 275/40R18 = BBS Type 195 18" Rear (rpm=756.0) 8.6kg

BBS LM 19" setup
19"x9.0J +18 245/35R19 = BBS Type 196 19" Front (rpm=783.0)
19"x10.0J +22 275/35R19 = BBS Type 197 19" Rear (rpm=759.0)

All wheels are 5 hole with 114.3mm P.C.D.

Fluctuations in the rolling radius are an everyday occurence (even with pressure monitors).

All speedos are innacurate by some degree - a speedo that reads true at 30mph will not be true at 70mph & vice versa.

As long as you are there or there abouts everything will be fine.

If swapping out aim for somewhere near original, but don't be too much of a stickler for the exact match

F = 775.0 to 784.0
R = 754.0 to 768.0

If anyone else has tech info relating to specific brands & ACTUAL setups please post.

Please no photoshops, or wishlists - this stuff needs to work on the vehicle - get my drift???

I will periodically update (correct!) the info shown here so check for the latest version of this post later on in the thread… Thanx

So are you saying that the NISMO LM GT-4's will not correctly fit the 350Z???

while you can physically bolt the Skyline wheels to the 350 it is not the correct offset and will move the wheel further out and change the scrub radius angle of the suspension geometry causing abnormal handling. also there will be a decrease the slip angle the car is able to achieve creating additional understeer and less responsiveness to steering input

I read somewhere ... "you can put a windshield wiper on a billy goats *** but why would you ????"

You can put wheels designed for a Skyline on a 350 but, why would you ????

But I think most people would agree that they WANT to move the face of the wheel out a little bit to make it look more flush with the fender wells than the stock spec. Those Nismo wheels (rears)w/ +30 offset , would only push the wheel face out 8/10 of an inch (If I calculated it correctly). Not much...

Luke - Have you spoken to Nismo & Rays about that?

They are pretty certain the LM4's & the TE37's have been released for the Z. Check their sites (please)

Sorry Luke, nothing personal.

You have your opinion (& I can not deprive you of that) but I am afraid that I will go with the "experts" at Nissan Motorsport & Rays on this matter.

Post pics & full details of any installs you do on the 350Z, then people can compare your installs to Nismo's... Let the people decide!
