regretting my T1R purchase

Rubbers really do HUG the payment really well.
Considering Dallas temp is around 100 so far. I got mine mount & balance with tax for $875. For the price, I would HIGHLY recommend them.

It's been a week and a half and I've got very nearly 400 miles on them. In general, they still feel a bit squirly. Compared to the S03s, I feel like there is a ever so slight delay before my car does what I tell it to... If these things only last 10k miles, then I might as well just run S03s.
It's been a couple of weeks and about 450 miles. I still feel like the tires aren't living up to the hype. I was told that it would be okay to only replace my rear S03s and leave the front S03s in place, which is what I've been running on this whole time, but I'm wondering if that is contributing to my issues. I see two main traction issues: first is that it is really easy to oversteer now (well, compared to before) which I can easily see being due to the S03s in front being far more grabby than the T1Rs, as opposed to T1Rs all around which would just end up in understeer. The other issue, which is far more concerning to me is the squirliness that I feel. When going in a straight line on the freeway, I feel like the back end of my car is trying very subtly to go a seemingly random direction, where as my front is trying to go straight. Would these issues be solved by switching the fronts to T1Rs as well, or should I just give up and go back to S03s? I'd love to have a tire that didn't cost $1200 a year (about what the S03s cost me), but if the performance is what I've been feeling, then it's just not worth it as I feel my car is being underutilized in respect to how capable its handling used to be.
Yeah man, they prolly take longer to warm up than the SO3's. So wait until yer PSI jumps about 3-5psi and or 20mins cruising at 45mph+. Then take them on a ride.
And running different tires front and back IS going to affect handling in odd ways. Not really bad, just ODD.

I've definately noticed they take longer to warm up, but even after about an hour of driving on them, I still have these problems. I'm just wondering if I should just cut my losses and sell them whlie they are still new and go back to S03s, or stick it out and buy T1Rs for the front when the time comes. Really, I don't know if I want to spend 1200 a year on the S03s, assuming the T1Rs last me a year and a half or two years (I'm dreaming) and they cost me only about 850 over that period, it's a significant savings... I guess I'm miffed because it seems like unless I spend top dollar I don't get the performance I want, and while I used to be able to justify the amount of cash I've been sinking into my Z, it is gotten harder and harder as my life has taken turns for requiring more money, while earning the same amount...
Dude, i think i mention this earlier . If your running two different types of tires with two different types traction pattern this is probably your problem. You are not supposed to mix tires brands, especially on a sports car. Im not sure how you can expect a tire to give you the full performance it is capable of with just two tires and not put on all four corners.
I just put T1 Rs on my Zzzz and so far so good after 300 miles. No noise, ride is improved & handling is just fine. But, then, I'm not trying to get on freeway ramps at 95 MPH!
I have the T1-S and they sucked when i first got them on. After awhile you will get use to it but still, the sidewalls are not stiff enough. i have 500 miles on the car now and i have played around and know the limits but i liked the stockers better.. get the pole positions. that will be my next set of tires. also try and mess around with the pressure, that made a difference. 40 psi is what mine is set at. i need to get an alignment on my car and i think that will help out a lot also. for some reason the rear is off and the tires are wearing in the inner edge.
Having heard all these issues about treadwear, is it possible that getting a camber kit will help with tread life, especially in the rear, which seems a lot more negative, even on a stock Z, than the fronts. $1000 a year on tires definetely sucks!
