550+whp...what wheel/tire combo would you recommend?
I know next to nothing about tires and would like somebody to tell me what they would pick if they were in my shoes. I've searched, but I want to know what you guys think too.
I'm thinking maybe 19x10.5 wheels with 305/35/19's in the rear, what do you think? I may have to cut the wheel wells but I'm fine with that.

I posted this already in the wheel/tire section, but since some of you FI guys may not look there I thought I'd post it in here as well.

With a 10.5 wheel, a 305 might be a bit "pillowy" on the side wall. I run a 295 on a 10.5 and there is plenty of bulge on the sidewall, I think a 305 might be a bit much. You most likely will have to roll fenders in order for them to fit.
I say run an 18X10 or 10.5 in the rear with a nice soft tire.

That's what I would use, except I would use a 30 series tire on a 19x10.5" wheel otherwise your sidewalls will look huge (imo) and the larger dia. will fool your computer and trip the whatever the heck that light is that goes on when your tire sizes are off by too much from stock.
Like the other guy said, use the widest you can with that much HP.

You wouldnt be able to feel the performance difference from 18" to 19" but you would be able to see the difference.
If you get the right 19s they can be lighter than stock.

Track - yes

it isn't all about just weight, it's the diameter of the wheel and how the weight being distributed around a greater diameter taking more force to turn the wheel
meaning an 18" 20 lb wheel will outperform a 19" 20 lb wheel

i think the first question is what are you doing with the car? street racing and street driven 100%? real 1/4 mile runs? DE's on real racetracks? wheels and tires from a number of vendors are marketed for each of those niches (among others), and each serves a purpose. what are you doing with the car?

I have volk gtcs...
front: 9.5 245/35/19
rear 10.5 285/35/19 (plenty of room for more tire, will go 295/305 next time-fenders are rolled as well)
19's look soooooo good...i'm sure 18's look good as well, 19's are not overkill!!!
the car looks so much more aggressive with the big rubber hanging out, the best way to describe it is...before, the car looked like a dalmation ...now it sits like a pit bull
will receive on tues: set of 18 by 9.5 w/ 295/35/18 bf drag radials
just sharing....
