Default An Aussie needs HELP!! - Wheel Price

Okay this is the deal.

Since in Australia we do not get the Track model with the 18" Rays wheels I complained to my Nissan dealer that this was not good enough.

In turn they offered a buy back for the wheels that come with the Track model and will allow me to put whatever wheel I wish.

What I need to know is what Nissan in the USA sell the following wheels for as we do not have pricing in Australia yet.

18" Rays Engineering and (what comes on your track model)
18" 6 Spoke Alloys (what comes on your Perf and Tour mdels)

I have preorderd for the first shippment in Australia which is Feb 2003

PS: If someone could get me a price from Nissan in the USA it would be so appreciated.

Cheers,
Micheal

I would be very surprised if they offer you a decent price. Let me know how you go with that. What are your options on wheels? I say you go for a Volk Racing TE-37 or a Work Emotion. I love the Work Emotion forged wheels which I have seen on the GT-R. I have dealt with the importer of Volk in Oz. If you are interested in it let me know. Here is a picture of it on a F355.

I was thinking the TE37 or the MAK S5's. unfortunatly the S5 only come in 20"'s

MAK S5

Regarding the TE37's I was trying to go through Advan (Peter Hopkins)

http://www.advan.co.nz/

But not having much luck. He keeps promising to get back to me but never does. It's like too much hassle for him. There are rumours that his business is going to shut so I am a bit weary..

BTW who is your contact ?

Whoops sorry, that was meant to say Work, not Volk. I know the Work importer. But there are so many cars here in Melbourne with TE37, surely there must be a importer in Aust? Where abouts are you? I can try asking around if you want.

I'm also interested in one of the Work wheels but don't have the name of it handy at the moment. Picked it out of the 2002 catalogue.

I live in Sydney. Any chance to chat to the guy you know

Cheers

His name is Darren and his shop number is 0500883882. The number looks funny, but it gets through.

An update..

As true salesman style I went back to my dealer and questioned the buy back on the wheels.

In the first place they offered to buy back the wheels and I decided to sign on this proviso.

Now what they are saying is that they will see if a owner of a Touring model wishes to upgrade.

You guess it, I was not a happy camper.

Typical salesman.

Anyone bought a touring and wishes to do a swap on the wheels with a Track model and a cash adjustment?

That is just pathetic!!! You want the fax number to Nissan Australia (they don't have an email for customer complaints)? I plan to fax them soon to see if they can bring in some cars with Rays as options. I mean, surely the Rays cannot be anymore than 1-2k extra right??? I would buy a car on that proviso, otherwise I would have to think real hard. In fact my gf said that I cannot buy the car unless it has everything I want without having to spend more money. Fair enough too seeing that I have spent so much money and have changed 3 cars in the last two years.

I believe Ozzy Tyres and Racing Emotion can both get Volk in Sydney. Could be wrong. I'm sure there are some around.

Sorry to hear about the dealer. Then again that's their job right? Screw over the customer.
