After waiting 3 months for these, and a few more days for tires I test fit 2 of my rims to see how bad they rubbed the other day, here are a few pics of the LE's mounted on the car. Tires are BFG KDW2's 255/35 - 285/35. The backs do rub some, so Sunday I am having my fenders rolled so I can finally put these on. Fronts are fine. BTW-I know the tires are mounted on the wrong side of the car I only put them on for a test fit I absolutely love the stance with these wheels and tires. They are +22 offset, 19 X 9.5" front 19 X 10.5" rear. Car is lowered on JIC coilovers....

 

BTW-I got the wheels from Evolution, just wanted to say thanks to Steve, he was always very nice to me even though I must have called him 50X when the wheels were about to arrive. Great shop to deal with Id highly recommend them to anybody. Here are a few more:

Sweet! So are you plan on rolling the fenders yourself or a bodyshop is doing it for you? I'm planning on roll the fenders myself using the fender rolling tool @ rollyourfender.com . I thought to give it a try because theres nobody local that will roll them for me.

I found a local guy that has a fender rolling tool, and has done 2 Z's so far with no issues. He has done around 30 or so BMW/Audi's with no issues, so Im meeting up with him Sunday if all goes as planned. $80-100 for him to do it. I went to a body shop and got a quote $150 per side at best if the paint on the outside fender doesnt crack, $400 per side if it does and I had to repaint the fenders Just ask in your local forums, Im sure you can find a hook up.

 

Wow, $400 per side if the paint does crack. $80-100 for the guy to do it seems pretty good. I was quoted $200 to roll the fenders. But, I back out when they told me they were going to roll it with a bat.

I was looking all over NY for someone who has the tool + experience but had no luck finding anyone. My only option is to rent the fender rolling tool. I just hope I don't crack the paint on my fenders doing it myself.

 

I'm running the same wheels/tires. The rear lips are about .7 wide at the top. I just removed the wheels one at a time, masked, trimmed approx .37 off tapering down, touched-up the bare metal and re-installed the wheels/tires. You can't even tell! No risk to cracking the fender paint.

 

I got my fender work done for $70 and was not rolling, they cut the fenders so I can run pretty wide offsets. Maximum I had so far as 19x11 with 295-35 tires and lowered to the ground

 

I had numerous people tell me not to cut the fenders, its the easy way to get clearance for wheels. If you feel the edge of that lip inside I am rolling the fender is 2 piece, you can feel the indents where they have been welded? together. When you cut that your seperating it, painting alone wont prevent rusting in between these 2 pieces of body-over time it could get into the quarter panel. Everywhere I went told me they recommended rolling over cutting. Or I could cut every few inches and roll it, then seal it with something to keep moisture out. For me, rolling seemed like the best choice, I hope your cutting stands up over time.

SickG35 what were your offsets on those 19X11 wheels?

 

You don't have to trim past the spot welds. Look under there to see how wide and thick the lip is. The sheet metal is very thick and risky to roll without cracking paint.

 

Oh well that would have been good to know. I was kinda worried even with fenders it would rub, but after hearing feedabck in this post it seems to be no problem. Are you lowered?

 

Not yet. I will be lowering approx .7 inches. I have parked at weird angles (uneven surface) and observed my tires tucked nicely under the fenders. I have never rubbed since I trimmed mine even under HARD cornering. What's really cool is that the fender lip varies, so you can mask to get it straight and you wouldn't even know it had been trimmed unless a stock car was next to it and you measured each fender lip. The 255/285 KDW2 tires grip like mad by the way and the understeer is gone. The WHOLE car just moves over ever so slightly when blasting around corners. The car handles way better than stock. A little lowering and some sways, look out!

 

Good, your gonna have more clearance once you lower it and it cambers in (negative) some...have any pics of your set-up?
