Should we consider a group purchase of HRE's wheels????
I keep on looking for wheels I like as much as much as those HRE's but as of now, I continue to I keep comparing everything to them.
I think they are too expensive but maybe we can get a group price from a vendor that could make it worthwhile for people like me that would like to get those wheels at a less expenisive price. I will be getting my Z sometime between now and the first part of January.
Does anyone want to join me in looking for a group price? I do not know how much of a discount we could get and if having a group will lower the price significantly.

the factory is up in vista california. very close to were I live. I talked to the rep the other day. He invited me up to view his rims in person. said we could get 10% off!
Wheels are spendy and weigh a total of 26 pounds each. (19")
TOO DAM HEAVY.
make em under 22 pounds and I'll buy!

Who did you talk to?
all_bark:
Who did you talk to at HRE? I did not know they were based in Vista. I also live within 5-10 miles from them (Oceanside). do you have the name + phone number? Lets start working on a group deal. The only problem is i will be out of the country from Dec 19-Jan 5th. We can start the ground work and maybe get it set up.
How many are interested? We can start shopping but need to know numbers of interested parties: I will start thew interested list:
1. Jeff (zland)

Peter Lee at WheelExperts in Houston quoted me a 17% discount on both the 440 and 540 series from the prices listed on the HRE website
Did you know the 445R's on the HRE Sema Z are 19x9.5 with 275/30/19 tires on the front (yes the front) and 19x10.5 with 295/30/19 tires on the rear? Also has Eibach springs which lowered the car 1.25" (according to one of the HRE sales guys)
Personally, I like the 446R's: 18x9 front, 18x10 rear with the brushed aluminum finish.

Add your name to the list!
So far, I am the only one on the list. Vendors need to know what numbers we are talking about. Add yopur name if you are considering based upon a good price.
Personally, I am liking the 545's best because of the wider spoke. Price, wt, and some long consideration may sway me to 800 series or 445s but for now, those 545's look sweet.

Damnit - I'm down to 540s or 545s I think . This is killing me. The worst part is HRE has the damn wheel fitment guide with a Lemans Sunset Z and they all look great.
If anyone wants to look at HREs website it's www.hrewheels.com

I bought some 546's from Paul at Avalon Racing a few years ago and he gave me, by myself, a BIG discount. I don't know if he can go as low anymore but you may want to give him a call. I may be in. Depends on what I hear on prices as HRE's are awesome. The weight mentioned above may be about right, but I do know that when I went from stock 16's to HRE 18's with tires I actually lost weight on my ZXTT.
