Default Lightest wheel available in 18" and 19"

I haven't even considered buying new wheels for my Z since I figure 18 is a pretty good size and I'm not about the "bling" factor, but since I care more about performance and reducing unsprung weight, I was wondering what the lightest wheels were that are available for our car, their actual weight, and if possible the prices for them. Thanks in advance guys!

do you care about width's. If not, the OEM track wheels are pretty damn light. aftermarket:

SSR Competitions
Buddy club (don't know the model)
Enkei RPF1
Nismo LMGT4

just to name a few.

I understand that the OEM track wheels are about 18lbs and the OEM G35 6MT sport package wheels are about 19lbs a piece, but does it get significantly lighter than this in the OEM sizes?

Volk LE37T, and TE37's are about 16 pounds in 18" sizes. You can't get significantly lighter than that for a street wheel. And they look awesome!

I don't know if those volks are that light. I've heard they are the lightest and believed it. But i weighed them with Tire and air in the tires and it was near 42lbs i believe or heavier in a 19 trim. Maybe the tire with air adds that much weight? Im just wondering, i'd like someone to weigh the rim then the Rim and tire together to get a better answer.

I would say any of the 1 piece forged 18" Volks would be your best bet:

TE37
CE28N
SE37K
LE37K
LE37T

Tires are often heavier then light weight racing wheels.

That would totally make since then. Let me re-phrase my previous statement. I know Volk's are one of "the lightest" performance rims for our cars. From what everyone was saying about them on the board i just assumed they would be much lighter than say the 5zigen Hyper Zr's I have. I guess if they are compared to other rims then I would see the big difference. I do like the GTC's a lot. LE37's are nice and some of the other ones i don't know the name of.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, it really helps a lot! Tires can be pretty heavy actually, I know Falken Azenis ST115's in OEM tire sizes weigh almost 26 lbs, which is the same weight as the 18 inch OEM wheel, which means almost 25% heavier than the Rays 18. Does anybody know the specific weights for the Volks wheels that everybody has been mentioning? And on a side note, why does everyone go ga-ga over Volks wheels? (Besides forged construction, lightweight....?)

I like to think these are the reasons people buy Volks:

Many sytles with multiple colors
Forged Construction
Excellent Quality
Tons of Offset Choices

Damn...those TE37 Mags weigh less than most 15 inch rims! But at almost my entire budget for all wheels and tires for one wheel alone, I think its slightly out of my price range...hehe...

Quick slightly related topic though, will 20x10 wheels with 275-30-20 tires (front), 20x11.5 wheels and 305-25-20 tires (rear) work with the Z without rubbing or modification?

if too light and you hit a pot hole, your wheel will damage?

Wheel damage depends more on materials and construction. Forged are stronger than cast but there are some damn light forged (Volks) and cast (Advan) wheels.

I am in the same boat, rather have light wheels than wheels for looks/bling factor.

How light are Nismo LMGT4 compared to Track OEMs, the reason why I ask is LMGT4 are wider than Rays Track OEMs. Then I can get wider tires for them.

I thought tracks were 18ish and Nismos were low 18 for front and mid 18 for the back.

Keep in mind wide tires weigh more as well.

If my information is correct, Nismo LM GT Magnesium forged wheels in 18x10 size weigh 17.1 lbs, Track 18x8s weigh 18.1, and Track 18x8.5s weigh 18.6. Buddy Club P1 QFs in 18x9 and 18x10 weigh 14.8 and 16.1 respectively, although I must admit that they aren't the most exciting wheels aesthetically.

Those white ones would look pretty nice on Daytona Blue though...
