I think I see what you are talking about, you want a setup where the rear is wider and has a big lip. Kinda like this?

A friend of mine that has a 240sx set up for drifting and he is running a stretched 215 wide tire on his 5zigen wheel. It looks like the center part of the wheel where the lug nuts go on is set real far back in the wheel. Tough to explain I know.....maybe i'll try and get a pic next time I see him

That's definetly hot, but not quite what I am trying to describe. Basically take that wheel, leave the hub mounting point in the same position, but pull the spokes out to the edge of the rim, eleminating the lip. I'm still searching for a pic.....

Ok, I don't have a pic but I did talk to the guy with the drift 240. He said that he is running a 17x9 in front and 17x10 in the back. He has a +15 offset in the front and a +12 in the rear I think he said. Anyone know if that sounds like it would fit?

So far the wides tire I have seen on a Z is a 275. Anyone running a wider tire or have a pics? At what width does the wheel start to poke out from the fenders front and rear?

Alright-- this is another "how wide" question, but I already have my rims and may just need to get some new rubber.

First off, theyre 20" Volk GT-C. 8.5 front, 10.5 rear.
im toying with the idea of putting 9.5 in the front in place of the 8.5, if it will fit.

current tires: 245/35/20 front, 275/30/20 rear
suspension: currently stock, but have Tein FLEX on the way

problems: 1) the 275s are really stretched on the 10.5" rim, but when I bought them Brian at 350zonline told me 285s would rub, so thats why I stuck w/ 275. 2) Like I said, Id prefer the 9.5 in the front, but Brian also told me the 9.5 would rub and the 8.5 wouldnt, so thats why I havent done it yet.

questions:
1) will anything wider than 275/30/20 rub in the rear?
2) will the 9.5" fronts rub in the front?
3) whats the biggest tire I can put on 10.5" rim?
4) if i do need to modify the rear fenders to fit a bigger tire, what/how would I need to modify it, and how much bigger of a tire could I fit?
5) same question as #4, but for the front fenders?

thank you to whoever responds in advance

My wheels are NT03+M

+27 front
+30 rear

RPF1's are +15mm rear on the 10.5 and +15mm 9.5... you could do it.. but would have to run your tires stretched...
