Arrow New Rims/Tires to arrive Tues! (Photochop xpert help pretty please!!)

OK,

I dropped some funds to upgrade my stock 17in 235/50/17's.

I went with Nitto's all the way around because I have used them before, love them and they were allot cheaper than the BFG KD's.
They are 235/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear Model 555NT Extreme Performance. These things can hook and Auto -X even better!

The rims? ATS Brand Cetus Model. It's sort of a webbed 5 star.
Specs; 18X8 5-114.3 38HS

The 38 is the offset and the HS is Hyper Silver (powder Coated.)
It's a little further out than stock but not bad.
I'll upload the pic of the rim.

Can an expert photchop this setup on to a Daytona Blue Touring with Aero and Mud Flaps front and rear?

I would HIGHLY appreciate it. I'm dying to know how this will look.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Nitto tires, but if you've had them before and you like them, then they should suit you fine.

Not really feeling your choice in wheels, but I'll have to wait and see how they look on the car. A +38mm offset on an 8 inch wide wheel is too high IMO....it's gonna push the wheel too far into the wheel well (8mm more than stock).

I've heard nothing but bad things about Nitto tires
I did a 12.1 on them with a 1.5 60' and a friend in his Trans Am did a 38 sec on Auto -X.

They are *very* popular here and I haven't heard anything bad about them once.

Goes to show how different opinions can be in different areas.
I'm sold on the tires they are great.

Rims will always be a tough call. Some people like chrome, some people like black or even yellow or white (which I hate.)

Here in my city the Imports are running these ugly (IMO) white 10 spokes.

To each his own I guess. I like them. There isn't gonna be a *dramatic* difference in the offset. It's measured in milimeters right? Plus 1/2 an inch and I have the mud flaps.

I still would like to see someone chop it up for me on a D Blue car though!

Thanks!

Default I'm a little confused

The Asst. Manager at my Dealer towards me the offset would be slightly greater than the stock wheel I have (17x7.5)
IOW, protruding more, not recessed.

Can someone confirm? If it is further in I will not accept them. I haven't paid in full yet just a deposit.

And please help me photoshop them. I have Paint Shop Pro's latest version. Perhaps if no one will Pchop it then someone can give instructions on how to do it in PSP ?

Thanks all and TGIF!!!

Default I was gonna wait but...

I couldn't.

I should have got it done first then posted the pic.

I will do the Z right. Have Faith. It's gonna look good.
I'm gonna add a blue spoiler too. Not sure which one though.

Then Exhaust, Intake, Chip...

In that order.

I have bought several different rims for several different cars and it has always came out right (compliments and such) so I am not too worried.

I went with my gut. I liked it, so we shall see!

BTW, edit add;

I should add it's alloy and lighter than stock.

Personally I believe that the offset is incorrect for your car, but hopefully i'm wrong!

we used an offset in the mid 20s on a 9" rim and it was flush with the fender.

So then minus a full inch for mine correct? Then add a few milimeters? So it should be less protruding then yours if I understand you correctly?

Oh,

This rim fits my car all the way down to the model.

It says it fits the "2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Auto" at
Discount Tire aka America's Tire

The higher (greater) the number, the more the wheel is recessed into the fender. The lower the number, the more the wheel protrudes out towards the fender.

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 8mm LESS

The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 8mm

Default Thank you Jonathan

Now,

given that fact (I and they had it backwards),

Wouldn't the fact that the new replacement rim is half an inch wider and the tire in the rear is a 275 (width) instead of a 235 (wider tire too) offset those few milimeters and at least be the same (not further recessed?)

You are correct. I mistakenly figured on the 18x8 when in fact you have the Enthusiast/Base wheels....I apologize.

So, this is what you'll end up with;

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 14mm LESS

The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 2mm

Default Thans again

You have been a great help in this matter Jonathan and that link is good.

I can live with 2 mm.

I was getting ready to inquire with the wheel dealer on why they would reccomend a wheel for my car that could possibly even if rarely cause damage/rubbing or not fit correctly.

I feel much better now. Today is good.

Tomorow will be better when the RAIDERS pound the Dolphins at 10AM PST, but after the game work returns

Now that we have the technicalities out of the way where are all the imaging experts?

I tried but the white between the star spokes made it look silly
(in the pic I posted here) and the rim was on crooked. Haha it looked like I did it with a crayon on carbon paper!
