Its just poser. Maybe thats a better word for Zboy. 20's are all pose and no go. You buy a sports car to go not pose. Its like the guy that wears workout gear every where but never ever works out. Pointless, anti-performance mod. Yes they look good but everything else suffers. So those that have their car to pose can do so but id much rather have performance. I dont know why people just dont come out and say "i dont mind wrecking my handling and acceleration so chics think my car is pimp" bc thats what they are doing. I dont hate but posing isnt my style.

gatti-man, So You are telling us that you dont expect any one to look at your SPORTS CAR and like the show? Im not hating on your opinion. But do you drive it around town pedal to the metal 24/7 so that you are using your SPORTS CAR for what it is.

I doubt I would spend the money on 20's, because they are expensive. But people in here showed proof that they look nice, atleast in their opinions and mine. If tire size was for posers and takes away that much from the sprts car feel why has factory tire size slowly increased from 15inch to 19inch on some stock SPORTS CARS?

maybe i've just been seeing 20s with the wrong mods needed to make it look good, eg lowering, shaving, etc, cuz the zcars the monkeys posted look outstanding. and paul, i think it was, posted a turbo w/20s which is also very hot. honest question: with all that power the greddy gives you, do the 20s help or hurt in terms of handling?

poser...hum...
ok then, how often do you track your car? cuz if you dont do it everyday, that would make you a poser.then again you are so quick to answer without even knowing what has been done to that car.
hes probably got 10x the amount of performance that you will ever attain in your z.

if you were really into racing a sports car, you would be riding on lightweight 17's and since you got your base model, you could even possibly fit 16's, and since you know everything about how a sports car should behave, you would not have bought the nismo 18's, cuz ya know, since they are bigger, will hurt performance.

so, why did you buy your wheels when your z needs a lsd more than anything? a lsd will improve the car more than a new set of wheels will do. o yea, a cf hood will probably be heavier unless you go dry carbon or go with a top manufac. like varis. but then you are saving like 2lbs and paying >1.5gs for that.

actually, its anthony no biggie

i cant say weather or not it helps or hurts. all i know is what without the wheel and tire upgrade the car would not handle like it does, then again it does have twins in it. hes currteently rolling on 19s now, but thats due to the fact he cant get 18's over his brakes.

ok can some of us grow up?

it really isn't possible to track every single day and you know that unless you have multiple cars.

I'd take a lamborghini with 17's over 20's or 22's any day, but their huge brakes probalby wouldn't fit in them

This is what im talking about. 20's are poser, just get over it. No one can say 20's improve performance and 19's are stretching it. They are solely for looks. The reason car manufactureres are moving upwards in rim width is bc A) 18" rims are the best performance/looks rim and customers like looks B) big rims sell which is why all these people have 20's despite the fact it is a detriment to their car hence POSER. I never said there was anything wrong with posing just it is what it is. Its obvious on SUV's and all that. I knew id get flamed so my feelings arent hurt but they are strictly for show. Also improving performance of your car doesnt hold strictly to the track, hence my forged one piece 18" rims arent poser and yes i bought my nismo exhaust for the sound so they are almost poser but since it drops 9lbs and adds power it isnt like 20's. I can admit it. It really isnt that hard lol.

Oh and our Z isnt a supercar so no one talk about carrera GT this BS. Anyone feel free to explain how an over-large heavier rim is BETTER for our Z? If so i will apologize but it isnt there.

It's all about form & function. Ideally, you'd want a balance of both but the problem is that people's perception on "form" is very subjective. One may think 17's are perfect looking while others think it's too small. This debate could go on forever & nobody would be right or wrong since this is based on opinion. There is no question that it has already been proven that smaller wheels with more rubber performs better for track purposes but as someone pointed out, more & more high performance cars are starting to come out with larger wheels w/ low profile tires. Why? It's because techonological advancements in the automotive industry is allowing us to now go with bigger wheels that does not compromise weight (forged) & tires that are much stronger/durable which can take more of a beating even though they are low profile. Thus bridging the gap between form & function. I bet this was debated before when they first introduced 17"/18" wheels when 15" was the norm. Now folks who think the norm is now 17"/18" are doing the same thing to 19"/20". Last but not least...it's all about "execution". No matter what size or style of wheel you get, if you get a wheel that does not match the car...it will look funky.

lol. this is a funny argument. But OPINION arguments rock, because nobodys opinion is the same. My only beef in here is saying that people who have 20's are poser. That comment says that my opinion is wrong.

Gatti man I am not saying you are wrong. You are deffinetly correct because it is your opinion to not like 20's. Me myself think the look nice. Me thinking something looks nice doesnt make me a poser. If you didnt care about looks you would primer your z throw 17 inch street wheels on it and drive it ***** to the wall everysingle day so you would be a true racer.

Me myself cant afford to have myself a sports car and race it 24/7. I like a car that looks nice and goes nice. And I dont see how that could possible be pose if its what I like.

+1-10 lol....

It always kills me when I see some people get so caught up in anothers choice of rim etc...Who cares...Do what you want to YOUR car and let others do what they want with theirs..You know why I bought 20's for my Z????????????????Hmmmm????

BECAUSE I CAN.

I like the look of a large rimed , wide fat tired sports car...Do you really think most of us with 20's dont know there is a handling/performance tradeoff? I for one inquired about the best gearing change that would offset the performance penalty..I know about the 3.9's benefits with the 18" rims. If I got that with the 20" rims Im told the acceleration would be brought back closer to stock..I inquired about a gear set that would give me the same acceleration as the 3.9/18" but optimised for the 20" rims..Im thinking its gonna be a 4.xx gearset but person never got back to me...So if anyone knows Id appreciate any info...See...Not all 20" guys are full blown posers Ask any girl..Bigger is better

if you are into tracking then 20" is not the choice. How many percent of people here track their car compare to weekend car and daily drive car? The bottom line, do whatever you want to your car.

See but thats the thing. I like the LOOK of 20's. When ZBOY said 20's are ghetto and then some people threw up pics of 20s the cars looked pretty good imo but my knowledge of cars and how much unsprung weight is very important makes me wonder why people do it. That leads me to the conclusion that they must care more about the looks of their car than the actual performance (street or track both are affected). Hence leading me to the conclusion that 20's are for posing. Case in point is that every show car has 20's (or bigger), why? Bc show cars are for posing, thats what shows are.

Also i get laid plenty, just bc i have an opinion different from yours doesnty mean i dont get laid on a regular basis

Also to all those asking who cares??!!??!! and plus +100 its the titles thread "why 20's" so i answered they are for posing. You obviously cared enough to click the link so let it go.

what I don't like about 20's is they make your brake rotors/brakes look rediculously small

dude, gatti-man. Quit Saying poser. In one of your sentences you said "I never said there was anything wrong with posing just it is what it is." Making it sound like you are trying to say "poser" in a nice way. Well there is no nice way in sayin it, so quit sayin it. "Poser" is and will always be a diss to people.
