Default New way to mount TPS sensors to 2 or 3 piece wheels...

I found this on another site. The guy used the mounting hole for the wheel manufacturer's valve stem to secure a bracket into which the tps screws. As any one else seen this before? Where would you get that bracket? These seems like a much better method than banding the tps sensor to the wheel...

So the valvestem is just sitting there inside the tire? And the real tire's valvestem will still come out the hole that his bracket's mounted to? Not the clearest post.

When I asked Chris at F1Motorsports if he could install TPS to my new wheels, he said yes, but he has to drill a hole.

I'm not sure what he was talking about, but once my rims come in, I will update you on what specifically he plans to do to install them.

Thanks! But from reading the post, they seem to have used the existing hole where the new valve stem goes, so no extra drilling was needed. I'd also love to see where they got the bracket in the first place.

Default Updates?!?!!

I know this is an old post but has anyone heard an update on this?!? This seems like a great idea and that custom bracket looks like a clean job and more secure than past ideas I have run into.

Drilling a hole in the wheel is both no good and will void any sort of warranty with the wheel mfg.

Do a search for one of my posts, I band mounted the TPS to a set of Volk GT-C's. Post includes pics and step by step instructions.

Look again. You don't have to drill a hole in the wheel. You use the existing valve stem hole to secure the bracket. Thats what makes this so ingenious...

You have to buy a wheel with the valve hole in the center of the rim. Banding will work on any wheel.

There are only two valve stem hole configurations. If you have a one piece, aftermarket wheel, then the valve stem is in the same configuration as the stock wheel. You can install the TPS sensor like it's intalled on the stock wheel. If you buy a two/three piece wheel then the valve stem hole is in the center of the wheel. This is when banding is required to install the TPS Sensor. Basically, the only time you'll ever have to a band a TPS sensor is if you have a two/three piece wheel with the valve stem hole in the middle of the rim. If you're gonna be banding the TPS to your rim, this bracket could be an alternative.
