Default Need help on tire advice

I am going to be getting some new tires soon and I can get really good deals on Bridgestone tires. I also have the track 18x8.5 all the way around. I am trying to decide weather to get the 265/40/18 RE050 or the 255/45/18 S-03s. I don't want the 255/40, because this will throw my speedo off more. I think the S-03s grip better from my understanding, but would that be better then having the RE050 that will have more of a contact patch? I also think the RE050 is an Asymetrical tire.

I would go with the RE050 (not asymetrical, the RE050A is) in 265/40/18rear, it will bulge a little over the rim because for 8.5 it should be 255, you'll have some more protection.
Be sure to get 245/40/18front.
In France they don't make the SO3 anymore,RE050 is lighter and grip a lot.
Cheers

I am going with the same size tire all the way around to help with understeer and to allow me to rotate my tires. Also the 265/40/18 comes in the RE050A.

According to Tirerack and other companies the S03 is supposedly the #2 overall tire. I would rather get those than a wider less sticky or well rounded tire.

I just checked tirerack.com
As of September 18th, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 was #1. The Michelin PS2 is #2. The Bridgestone S-03 is #4. On my 350Z, I got 36,000 miles out of my Goodyear Eagles in the front, and 31,000 miles out of the back tires. I am down the wear bars on the rears, and have ordered another set of Eagles. Much to my surprise, the new Eagles (sitting in the entry way as delivered by Goodyear), have an improved tread design that includes a new "bridge" on the corner of the rib where my rear Eagles were starting to show signs of 'chunking' rubber where I think I had hooked the tire on the edge of the asphalt pavement from my miles driving the Tail of the Dragon! I really think you cannot go wrong with the Eagles! Very good track performance; excellent dry grip on the street; outstanding wet weather performance!

Here's the link:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP

Only "top notch" tire not in survey is Toyo (Tirerack does not sell Toyos)

The RE050A is in 3rd, not the RE050.
