Thumbs up TOYO T1-R! The BEST Just Got Better!!!

I have been a faithful TOYO customer since before the T1-S (mid-late 90's) with over 7 sets on a few different vehicles of mine. The one and only problem I have had is the 'shoulder' wearing prematurely compared with the wear of the middle. Although over the years I have consistently ran 40psi all around and the overall wear has been great! Enter the new Proxes T1-R which appear to directly address this issue... and then some! Not to mention they have FINALLY heard my wishes for a "285" in 19"!!!

Marcus (Will be ordering a set of these now for reserves!)

The new Proxes T1-R™ combines innovative Toyo T-Mode™ technology with knowledge from our participation in motorsports. Innovation through competition is the Toyo philosophy.

That translates into building a tire with optimum balance in construction and compounding to deliver the exceptional wet and dry performance you expect for many different driving conditions. The Proxes T1-R is available in 14” to 21” rim sizes and sports UTQG ratings of 280 AA A

question for ppl with T1-R's. How many miles have you been replacing these? Of course, daily driving on these. I've seen posts where they said anywhere from 15k-20k.

Hey Marcus .... I, like you and many others were VERY excited about these tires. However, if you search around ... initial feedback on them has been far less than good. I ended up with GY F1s instead.

Hey they been out that long? Couldn't be more than a couple of months...?

I get @ 16k out of my T1-S.

WOW...! That is disheartening to say the least...

Marcus (Retracts that future purchase statement until further research is done.)

I've got about 3,000 miles on my T1 rs so far. Ride is definately smoother & quieter than OEM tires. Handling seems fine but I don't push the limits. We'll see on durability.

Does the UTQG 280 rating provide any clue on what milage to expect?

Well I've had these for about a month now with about 2K miles on them.
I'd advised you to do more research on them because as soon as I slapped them on, oversteer became a big problem for me. Stock tires handled much better. After 2K miles, the handling are slightly better, but much worse than i expect. YMMV

People opinions are either love them or hate them with the T1-S. Ive heard they are great, Ive also heard once hot they are crap, Ive heard the feel wobbly and looses on 19" rims, I dont have any personal experience with them, but Id try any tire 1X. These T1R's look nice, how much is a 285 19?

they are not.

i had a set of t1-s on my coupe, and replaced the worn fronts with the R's. i developed some noticeable understeer. they ae quiet and ride nice, but the grip is just not there.

the ps2's are about the best that money can buy, and the price shows it.

Do they make them for the stock 18" wheel?

Yup; that's exactly why I bought them; I wanted to stay with OEM sizes.
