Default BFG DR's Need some advise

I'm competing in the Street Class at the IDRC finals at LACR in November and unfortunately they do not allow ET Streets even though they are DOT approved so I have to get a new set of DR's. I have had good experiences with BF Goodrich so that's my pick I'm just not sure on the correct size and model.
Since I am running 15" ET Streets I want to stick with 15"'s

Here are my options I'm considering so far:

BFG Comp T/A Drag Radials 295/65/15 or 325/30/15
or
BFG gForce T/A Drag Radials 295/65/15 or 325/30/15

Now I have no idea if the 325 would even fit on my car without changing anything, for that matter I'm only assuming that the 295's will fit because I know some people running 295's but on 18" or larger rims...

I also have only experience with the old tread pattern (gforce) not with the new one on the Comp's so maybe someone can help me out here.

Thanks

Can you run the new M/t drag raidals? Im not sure how tall of a tire you are lookin for but 295/65/15 is a very tall tire 29.6. You are goin to need alot of power for that thing. I dont know where you are getting a 325 30 in a 15 inch wheel. I only see 325 50 15 which is a 28 inch tire and still pretty tall. There are 8 second mustangs running 275 60 15s that is a 28 inch tire. If you arent making 500+tq to the wheels you are probably best goin with a 275 50 15. If you are lookin for just a drag tire the new mickey tompsons are the best Nittos would be the best for everyday driving. BFGs and M/Ts will lost around 4000 miles nittos are goin to last you 12000. Whatever you pick i would stay with a 26 inch tire. Widers isnt always better.

you are right the 325 is a 50....bad spelling
I do want to go BFG in terms of the brand.

I am currently putting down 445 whp and I know that birguymax is running the 295's but on 18" rims and he's doing about the same 60' that I am on my ET Streets.
This is strictly for the track btw

I don't know enough about tires this is why I am asking. The ET streets I'm running are basically 265's and they are great but I need the same results on dr's that's why I was going towards the much wider 295's

what are the numbers exactly on your et streets? If you get to tall of a tire you will actually hurt your times and mph will be slower. The guys running 295 35 18 is running a 26 inch tire. They dont make a 295 50s sieries in a 26 inch. A friend of mine had a mustang running 295 35 18 street tire not drs. And he was running 13.3 at 107-109. He switched to a 27x10.5x16 et street one night. He ran a 13.8 at 98 mph buy just goin with an inch taller tire. Oh and that et street was narrower than his street tire. My suggestion for you would to get the new M/T 275/50/15 drag radial. But if you cant run that or want BFG get the same size tire. They will hook much harder than a 295 35 18 dr radial.

I forgot to mention that must guys running ET street have switched to the drs and are running better times and higher mph. Some of them are almost running the same times as they do when they run their et drags. NMRA outlawed them cuz they have so much more of an advantage. So like i said your best bet would be a set of the new mickey thompson drag radials in a 275 50 15.

thanks for the help!!!

I will defnitely go with the 275/50/15 but will confirm with IDRC first if the MT Drag radials are allowed since they were not on their list of acceptable tires

Allright, I made my decission I will go with the BFG's 275/50/15...plus Prostar 15 x 8

Why?

The MT's require a 10" wide wheel and someone stated that the 15 x 10" Prostars won't fit on our cars ( I still want to get that confirmed but I'm out of time)

The 10" prostars plus the MT's are also together almost $100 more than the 8" ProStar/BFG Combo and since my regular setup still consists of et streets I don't see the extra money warranted.
Last since the event is the BF-Goodrich True Street Class BFG pays the winner extra if you're using their tires...you never know I might win

Anyway, just thought I put a closure on this chapter and thanks again for the help

no, you'll need the 16" pro stars on the Brembo's and they are no longer in production

I think the 15x10 Prostars will fit with a 6.5" backspacing. That equals a +25.4mm offset.
