Default CHIME IN: ideal tire sizes - 18" and 19"

let's forget about looks for a moment. there is some serious talent on this board, so let me ask what the ideal tire sizes for 18" and 19" wheels are?

i've heard so many different remarks, but what sizes would be closest to stock? is there anyreaosn (for handling ) to deviate from stock?

also, btw, does nayone know stock tire size and also diamer on a 2003 Z? would it be the same for the 2004 infiniti g35?

I'm starting to think this setup for 19's. 265/30/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears. I dont think I've seen anyone with this setup. Im curious how it might work out. I could get a set of these tires for around $620 shipped.

265/30/19 is a pretty rare size. for some reason 275/30/19's seem to be cheaper and easier to come by then 275/35/19's but since the 275/30/19's tend give your vdc and tcs problems when you run them in conjuction with a taller 245/35/19, since the side wall on the 275 would be a bit shorter then the 245 tire. i figured if thats the case why not run 245 or 255/30/19. unfortunately those arent made or very very hard to find and if you do they are most likely very expensive. I did however manage to find 265/30/19's at a very very reasonable price. Running a 265/275 setup is much closer to factory spec then the 245/275 setup most people run. I cant see how having a wider front tire could hurt.

That information helps. If your consideration is proper operation of VDC and speedometer error, select the sizes recommended here:

I have Toyo Proxes on 19in SF Challenges... Size 245/35/19 Front, 275/30/19 rear. Great setup. Handling and ride is great and the look is really sweet.

Right now I am running 255/35R-19 front and 275/35R-19 rears. They look good. I am going to be going to 275 all around though for better handling. I don't have VDC (nanny).
