Default Will these tires fit?

Im about to get some new rear tires for my Z. Currently i have the stock 245/40/18's on the back. Can i put 275/35/18's on the stock rim? I heard i could and that this is the correct size to not throw off my speedometer. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

There are various styles of calculators available online that'll help you figure everything out on your setup. That's what I did when I widened my rear rims from 8" wide to 9.5".

That's one of the available tire size calculators that will tell you as far as sizing differences as well as the difference in mileage variances.

Hope that helps.

I didn't know that Nissan started using 245/40R18 on the rears. I always thought that they used 245/45R18 rears. If this is the case, you would want to get your original sizes correct before using a calculator to determine if wider wheels would fit.
Also, you need to see if a 275 tire would fit on the rim width that you have. If you have an 8" rim, my guess would be no - you can get a 255 on this width rim and some people may have stretch a 265 on an 8" rim also.
Despite this, I don't like the stretched look that is becoming fashionable these days, where the rim protrudes further than the tire. I can see the curb rash now. Also, If you go for a stretch look, you'd want to get a brand of tire with stiff sidewalls, if you plan on very hard cornering.
