JIC CF front strut, Injen intake.

AEM intake has been shown to lose hp and tq...forgot why. This has been discussed MANY times before...I'm sure you will find something if you search. But to save you the trouble, I would go Injen (which I have).

I just like JIC cuz of personal preferences...I have the CF front strut from JIC as well.

Yeah, I wanted to research before asking people's opinions, but I was trying to correct a mistake I made earlier. As you can see zand0max was already flaming me about a repost... I do want to know people's experiences with these products. A buddy of mine said Injen sits in too deep, therefore not getting any or very little cool air. As oppose to AEM which goes way lower.
It might had been discussed be4, but I haven't been around that long.
Still learning. BTW, wtf does "BUMP" mean????

no worries. But (from what I've heard) the AEM sits in your fender, but my Injen is right behind the front bumper grill, therefore theoretically should get more cold air charge. Hope this helps. Good luck.

 

One last ? nitrouz, do you have to go underneath the Z to maintain the Air filter? Clean it, replace etc..?

with the popcharger, you do not have to go under car for maintenance.

 

Most of the aftermarkettower bars are garbage since they put pivot points in them. Before you by one, you should also be 100% sure you're never going to run a different plenum or spacer.

 

To clean or replace the filter for the Injen CAI, you would have to go from under the car to remove the panel underneath the front bumper. But it's a PITA to do that...much easier if you just take off the front bumper. If you are looking for a bang for the buck and easy to clean/install, the JWT popcharger is it. A lot cheaper, but it's not exactly a Cold Air Intake as the filter sits inside your engine bay, where your stock airbox goes. But it does come with a heat shield though.

 

Well, made my choice and definitely going for the JWT. I don't want to lift the car or take off the bumper to do maintenance. Shoot, a bunch of Z'ers can't be wrong. Thanks for the help fellas.

FWIW I have the AEM CAI and I'm pleased with it. To remove the filter you just need to unscrew like 4-5 screws holding the splash guard in front of the FL wheel well. Without jacking the car up I can get my hands up there and remove the filter. Sure it's tight but not as much of a PITA as most people complain. And it's not like you need to clean the thing very often.

Nitrouz - Do you really think it's easier to remove the front bumper than to unscrew a few screws under the car? Your method might keep your clothes cleaner but I can't imagine it being easier.
