Exclamation What Are They Growing The Tires?

Hey all, well our 2004 black on black roadster qualifies for new front tires and a alignment. But the dealership has said that the new tires are on backorder from the manufacture and they have been for the last couple of months. Where are my new tires? Has anyone else had this problem?

It's the same thing that happened when they issued the TSB for the '03 models. There were no replacement tires to be found anywhere. I got lucky, I was one of the first 04 Z's to be processed by my dealer so getting tires was no problem.

Obviously Nissan got a bulk price on tires. Rather than get tires from the tire shop down the street and give then to you, you have to wait.

Duh! Of course Nissan and every other manufacturer get a bulk price on tires.

But in the case of the redesigned RE040's you couldn't even find them at the local tire store if you wanted to buy them on your own. You would have thought that Bridgestone would have been a little better prepared for this round of replacements that there would have been sufficient stock in the warehouses.

Did you know that you can purchase Michlins or Goodyears and Nissan will refund the price (minus the wear factor) for your front tires. This is what I'm doing since my rears need to be replaced as well.

BTW I mailed all my paperwork to Nissan asking for front tire reimbursement. That was 8 weeks ago. Haven't heard a word. Have you received a reimbursement by mail?

I'll be sending my forms in next week. I spoke with two different people at nissanusa about this and was told that it should take about 4-6 weeks. I've written down every name and phone number of the person I spoke with so I can at least go back and trace the history if I don't get my refund.

Unfortunately yes. Take photos of the wheels in case they get trashed.
