Can I put 275/40/18 tires on the OEM 18 wheel on the back?

NO! You can put them on, but it's not recommended by any tire manufacturer, so your tire warrantee goes out the window. Also, any reputable tire shop, should refuse to install these on an 8" wide wheel. All the tire manufacturers recommend a rim range of from 9" to 11" for that size tire, with an optimum size of 9.5". The widest tire recommended for an 8" rim is 255, why not go with a 255/45/18 in back with a 245/40/18 in front?

Can you please post pics of it? This is the second time I have heard of somebody putting 275's on 8-8.5" wheels and I still don't believe it.

Well I at least don't believe it is safe at all and I'm REALLY curious to see what it looks like.
